My wife and I will be visiting New Orleans at the end of this month with our almost 1-year old son. Having the baby with us has required two contingencies: we are renting a car, and our days will have to end by 6:30 or 7 pm-ish (although they do start at 6:30-7am). We will also need to find a quiet place for him to nap during the day, or else sit in the car/return to our lodging for an hour or so. I am hoping he'll nap in the stroller as we wander the city, but can't take this for granted. Given this, and the fact that we only have two days (Friday-22 and Monday-25, the weekend is taken up by the wedding we are travelling for) how best to organize our time? Any advice on travelling with an infant?

I am going to New Orleans on business. I will be on the edge of the French Quarter and am looking for restaurants that serve at least one vegetarian dish, preferably in or near the French Quarter. Cheap is not required and in fact for many meals higher end would be preferable.

My wife is traveling to New Orleans this weekend, and I'd like her to pick me up a (vinyl) record or two. The place she's staying is on the edge of the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny. Can anyone recommend some cool record stores in that general vicinity where she could pick up N.O. jazz/blues vinyl? I've done a bit of searching, but most of the places I've found seem to stock mostly CDs.

What is Stephen Fry filming in New Orleans this weekend? He tweeted twice about coming here, first saying he will be filming all day and again two hours ago that he is off to the airport.

I'm in New Orleans the week of the 13th-20th and have very few plans for what to do during the day (by myself) or at night (with a friend). I'm looking for suggestions for places to go, preferably that we can get to by streetcar. Note: I've never spent this much time in a city with a big river before and have no idea what to do with that.

Suggestions for acoustic music venues in New Orleans? I'll be visiting NOLA in a couple of weeks and would appreciate some advice about likely spots to hear live music. My tastes run to acoustic Americana, a touch of twang okay, bluesy too, and I already have a basic notion of the more touristy Dixieland scene from previous visits (all of them pre-Katrina). As examples of my interests I would mention the Nawlins-based musicians
Mary Gauthier and
Anders Osborne (or at least his folkier side). Thanks!

My erstwhile traveling companion and I are going to visit The Big Easy in the dead of August, specifically the 13th - 18th. What would be some activities we could do during the daylight hours to keep cool and out of the sun and are there still any Goth nights or the like to entertain us after dark? We are pale, Gothy types who have been to NOLA a few times but never this time of year.
