I'll be accompanying a group of college students to a conference in New Orleans later in the week, and we're looking at going out to dinner Thursday night. Where should we go? We need somewhere on the cheaper side, maybe $15 max for entrees, with cheaper options available if they just want something small. Easy access from canal or the convention center area, and easy seating for around 12. [more inside]
I'm heading to New Orleans with my wife for the first time in a couple weeks. She'll be attending a conference for a few days, so I'll have about 2 days to explore by myself and then we'll hang out in the evenings. We/I have already got a few ideas of what to do, but I'm looking for some more suggestions. [more inside]
We decided to not worry about the in-laws this year and booked a last-minute Christmas trip to New Orleans instead. So where do we eat on Christmas? [more inside]

My friend is taking a Megabus from Florida to Texas. She's connecting between the two states in New Orleans - where she arrives early tomorrow morning. Can you offer advice about navigating the Marigny safely by foot, or about using Megabus services in New Orleans? [more inside]
My girlfriend and I are going to New Orleans for Jazz Fest later this month. Although we'll spend a fair amount of time at the festival, we'd like to spend some time exploring NOLA itself. Looking for awesome restaurants, bars and fun things to do in New Orleans [more inside]
My wife and I will be visiting New Orleans at the end of this month with our almost 1-year old son. Having the baby with us has required two contingencies: we are renting a car, and our days will have to end by 6:30 or 7 pm-ish (although they do start at 6:30-7am). We will also need to find a quiet place for him to nap during the day, or else sit in the car/return to our lodging for an hour or so. I am hoping he'll nap in the stroller as we wander the city, but can't take this for granted. Given this, and the fact that we only have two days (Friday-22 and Monday-25, the weekend is taken up by the wedding we are travelling for) how best to organize our time? Any advice on travelling with an infant? [more inside]
I'm looking for nice gift(s) for my brother who is about to take a major test, except the test in on Thursday, and he lives 1,800 miles away. What could I order or have delivered in New Orleans for a stressed out med student?
Can anyone comment on the "Behind the Lines" tour at the National WWII Museum? And also, we'll be there on Final Four weekend, but care nothing for basketball; any ideas for what to do and what not to try to do? [more inside]
Yet another New Orleans travel question, with a twist: We're going to be in New Orleans on St. Patrick's Day, what should we expect? [more inside]
My husband and I would like to go to New Orleans, LA in March, 2012. We're fairly laid back and not huge into the tourism craziness that I tend to associate with NOLA. It is possible to go to The Big Easy and, well, have a chill time? [more inside]
I am considering taking a trip to NOLA in December... however, in looking at hostel listings, I realized that I do not know what is a good location to book a hostel. This is because I am not familiar with the city and I am not certain where the interesting parts are located. I also do not know much about the transit options available for accessing different places. It seems there are some trolley lines, but again, without knowledge of where I want to go, I don't know if they will be helpful or not. I do not care about hitting up every one of the top-ten tourist sites. To be cliche, I am more interested in experiencing the actual New Orleans rather than the tourist version of the city. Suggestions?
What should I do this weekend in New Orleans? I'm taking my girlfriend this weekend for her 30th birthday. We land tonight at about 6pm and depart on Sunday at about 6pm. [more inside]

My erstwhile traveling companion and I are going to visit The Big Easy in the dead of August, specifically the 13th - 18th. What would be some activities we could do during the daylight hours to keep cool and out of the sun and are there still any Goth nights or the like to entertain us after dark? We are pale, Gothy types who have been to NOLA a few times but never this time of year.

New Orleans. I'm going next week with a couple of friends to celebrate New Year's. While we plan on doing some of the typical touristy stuff (Cafe du Monde, Bourbon St., Preservation Hall, etc...), I was wondering if there was anything some locals (or non-locals familiar with the city) can recommend that's off the beaten path.
