Trying to remember a jazz musician. He went commercial way back in 60's I think.
He played trumpet I think.
One tune I recall was "Elephant Walk"
He was a very big man. He was on TV for quite a while.
Can anyone remember this?

Drinking outdoors in New Orleans: I'm planning a picnic with a large group of people in a New Orleans city park. I know outdoor drinking is permitted in New Orleans as long as the alcohol is consumed in a plastic cup and not the original container. My question is, can I bring a cooler of beer and wine to a city park, and serve the drinks in plastic cups? In other words, am I legally permitted to have open glass or metal containers outdoors as long as they're in a cooler?

Where can I find a digital copy of Bobby Loveless' 'Night Owl'? It's an old rock and roll tune (late fifties - early sixties) which was hugely popular in Louisiana (and throughout the Delta region). I have been looking for it on behalf of my father-in-law, who is a huge fan of this era's music? It's pretty obscure, I acknowledge.

Amid the original concerns about a Cat 3 or higher hurricane hitting New Orleans was the above-ground cemetery circumstances in the city. I'm not sure this thread could be any more ghoulish than what the status quo is but, has anyone heard anything about the status of the cemeteries in New Orleans?
