What's the best way to get my wireless router (Linksys WRT54G2) to play nice with my Vonage VOIP adaptor (Motorola VT 1005)? Frequently when I'm trying to upload somewhat sizeable files (e.g., like a minute-long movie to youtube), I lose my connection and have to reboot. [more inside]

Hi, I have two Cisco 2610 routers, each with WIC-1DSU-T1 cards. We have a Point-to-Point between two locations and I am using these to route the traffic between. The lines belong to Verizon and the AdTran cards are locked in a Verizon box. I can look in and see the status lights through the top. Each location has a RJ48X loopback jack. When I plug in the Cisco at Location 1 it seems to hook up fine, and the carrier detect light pops up. (Which is strange to me because our PTP is unmonitored and I thought the CD would only come on when equipment is plugged into both ends.) Then when I go and plug in the Cisco at Location 2, I get no lights, no nothing. I check the lights in the Verizon box and an alarm is triggered with a red LED. I disconnect the Cisco and it clears the alarm. How can I figure out what the problem is? I had the company that provides the PTP come and check the circuit originally and they said they found problems but that the problems had gone away now. Is it possible that the WIC-1DSU-T1 card in this router is faulty? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Help me find a Mac friendly wireless router? I've got a broadband neophyte Mac-using brother stuck in the wilderness. He just got DSL, but the router he has only uses PC software, and there's nobody even semi-local who can help him. Are there any wireless routers out there known for their Mac-friendliness? That is, come with Mac software for setup, have Mac-oriented support, etc?

Warning: Networking Geekery Ahead Once upon a time I was able to use VNC viewer (the binary executable, not the java viewer) on my work Windows XP PC to connect to VNC server on my home Windows XP PC via Port 443. This allowed me to view and control my home desktop in a window on my work PC and thereby do an end run around the restrictive web filter/firewall at work. It was slow, but it was still useable and reliable.

I stopped using it for a couple of weeks when I lost my USB key. I recently found it and tried my VNC connection again from work. It doesn't work now. [more inside]

I like to pretend that I'm a big networking wiz, but in reality, I don't even have the wits to play one on TV. Either way, I've been looking for something a little more robust in the router department for my home network, and I think I've found it with the Linksys WRT54G + DD-WRT firmware (v23, 12/25/05 release). And here's where the fun begins - Getting it to manage my DSL connection. [more inside]

I've got a network in my home - one PC, connected by wire to the router, and one Apple, connected by an Airport card (which I believe is 802.11G). The fastest speed I can get transferring files from one to the other is 2.5MB/s, which seems slow. Am I right, or is this standard?

iMacFilter. I'm attempting to connect my slot-loading iMac to a SBC DSL router. I can't get the iMac to recognize the DSL connection or locate the modem.

In my attempts to rectify this, I reorganized the hard drive using Discwarrior. Now the computer somehow boots up with MacOS 9.2, even after an OSX re-install. Help!
