Sniffing application network activity

Hi all, I've just downloaded the TPG Usage Meter application to allow me to monitor from my desktop how much of my download quota (from my ISP) I still have available for the month. As the application needs my username and password for my ISP I'm interested to see what data the application sends to the internet and to what hosts this data is sent. I've already tried using wireshark to see what is going on but from the overload of packets I'm getting very confused. Is there someway to filter the capture by process? Otherwise, is there some other tool that would be better suited for the job? Thanks, Max

How to Troubleshoot Intermittent Network Problem

I have a new pc hooked up and it gets the Internet all the time, no problem checking e-mail, surfing or pinging anything on the WWW. However, I have intermittent problems remotely logging into that machine, either via ssh or vnc. If I ping the machine for long intervals of time, I've seen packet loss of around 90%. Does anybody have a good idea of where to start diagnosing this problem?

I need to connect two computers that are located on separate networks. There are two things i'd like to be able to do: 1. Transfer files between the two computers. 2. Install Synergy, so that i can control both PCs with one keyboard and mouse. I can't install a second NIC in each PC, but i am willing to try maybe a USB NIC. Both PCs are running XP.
