Does anyone have any idea as to why a Macbook Pro or a laptop running WinXP could see a wireless network broadcast from an old Netgear (802.11b network) but two different laptops running Vista would not even see that the network exists?
The SSID is being broadcast and while there is basic MAC address filtering being used, the Vista laptops don't even see that a network exists.
OK, I'll put all of the relevant information below the cut, but the general issue is how do I convert a dotted quad IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) to the integers stored in Microsoft ISA Server logs? [more inside]
I'm trying to set up a small network for some friends of mine. They have 2 xboxes (not 360s) and just got broadband internet specifically for Xbox Live. I picked up router (a LinkSys WRT54G
). They previously had the xbox system link bundle (4 port hub and 4 cables). Then came the problems (after the jump). [more inside]
