Can I sign up for FaceBook and not have friends there?

A number of sites on the internet now use FaceBook accounts for signing in in order to have real names and addresses. I have left FB, finding it a waste of time. But I would like to make comments at sites that require FB, so can I open a FB account and not list any friends, ignore request to join up?

Domain Scalping, How To Fix?

So the domain for my personal site got scalped? I thought the problem was with billing for Hosting Direct but they said Network Solutions is giving a wrong redirect - I called Network Solutions and some organization? in Japan? And How do I deal with wanting to set all my computers on fire? [more inside]

Overpayment by employer - gross vs. net repayment

I just received an email from the company through whom I contract, claiming that they had paid me twice for a recent week. Obviously they now want that money back; however, they are asking for the full amount I was paid, NOT the amount I received after taxes. I am assuming I am on the hook for the whole [cursing] thing, but can someone tell me how this works? [more inside]

Writing .NET code to programatically build SSIS packages?

I'm looking into a project where I need to create an SSIS package in a programmatic way. The Microsoft articles on this topic are fairly arcane. I was hoping that there was someone who had built a wrapper or library to be able to create and manipulate these packages more easily through .NET code, but haven't found any. Suggestions welcome, though the criteria of SSIs and .NET are not negotiable.

Why does this work in a Windows Forms solution but not a as Class Library?

I have a driver written in C++; it's set up as a solution within a VS 2008 project. If I go and create a new "Windows Forms" solution and reference the driver, it works fine (Intellisence works, it compiles etc). But when I try to do the same exact thing with a "Class Library" solution it will not see, link, whatever anything in the driver. I know I'm light on information, but its that simple "Class Libary"->Fail Winforms-> "No Fail"! I can't seem to come up with any good google searches for this either. Please help me hive mind!

Writing website for charity...should I copyright it?

One of my former co-workers said "You had better copyright it" which made me wonder if I needed to and if I do, what kind of license do I give the charity?

A Microsoft product that thinks it knows what's best for me? Perish!

When I do Add -> Existing Web Site in Visual Studio 2008, if the existing site was created in an earlier version of .net (say 2.0 and I'm running 3.5) Visual Studio automatically starts an update wizard to convert the site to 3.5. How do I turn off this behavior so that it simply imports the web site without updating it? I know this is possible because the first time I did this it happened flawlessly, but at the time I didn't un-check the "automatically update sites next time" check box. Gah.
