WorkEthicsFilter: So I abruptly quit my job, after realizing that I was being taken advantage of in a completely unfair way, that I spent most of my days crying, and that work was all I talked about in therapy sessions. My boss at my previous job has been calling me, offering me my old position back with the promise of a promotion in a few months.

I have a goals & objectives meeting with my boss. Lately work has been hugely unsatisfying, and I feel, moreover, that promises have been broken or infinitely deferred. I have plenty of other work opportunities, it is almost hard to keep them away.
Do I mention that I am seriously considering leaving in this meeting in hopes that it might change things, or just be quiet and leap when the time is right?

I am interviewing for a new job shortly. I am trying to come up with a dollar figure for how much I should ask for. I will be changing cities, working a fairly similar job to the one I am in now, and moving to a city where the housing costs are slightly higher. How do I figure out how much I need to make the move? Is a calculator available to help with this decision? I am looking for raw numbers here, I will factor in social costs later.

My company has been propositioned by a Canadian film company to use approximately 2500sq.ft (a lab, our main hallway, lunchroom and boardroom) for a TV mini-series. They will be working around our staff, during the day. They anticipate 5 days of filming, with a couple of days of prep-time. How much should we expect to be offered? Any realistic number would help before we go into negotiations. Thanks

I'm currently on maternity leave from a job that I love. I had planned on returning to work once my leave was up, but I've now made the decision to stay home with my baby. However, I would still like to work for my current employer on a freelance basis. What's the best way to break the news to them that I'm not coming back while hopefully leaving the door open for future freelance/contract work? I don't want to burn any bridges.
