Performance review - am I being paid less?

My performance review is coming up, and after three years at the company, I'm doing the same job as a co-worker, which wasn't the job I was hired to do. I believe I am fairly compensated, and generally like my job. However as a female person twenty years younger than the male person I am sharing job duties with, I wonder if I should take the opportunity to address salary equity in a performance review or not. Help with negotiation

I just got a job offer (yay!) and I need help with negotiating benefits. Problem being that this is a very small and informal company while I've always worked at large multinationals with clear guidelines for these things. I have no idea how small companies work. [more inside]

How do you negotiate for influence?

It is likely that soon I will be in a possession of a job offer from one of my company's competitors. As sometimes happens, my job search started out of frustration with certain issues in my current workplace rather than a true incompatibility. Ideally, I would love to stay where I am, but in an improved situation; the problem is that that things I want are not concrete things like a promotion or a raise, but rather vague like a greater influence on design and planning, and greater opportunities for leadership roles. How to translate these "wants" into specific, measurable goals? [more inside]

Tight deadline for accepting an offer (waiting to hear from another)

Company A has an offer for me, and will be calling this Friday for an answer. Interviewed with Company B today, seemed to have gone well, explained to interviewer my situation, interviewer promised to give me an answer Friday as well. Now I'm worried Company A will get to me before Company B does, and I risk taking up on their offer without hearing from B first. What do I do? How to negotiate salary mid-career?

I am interviewing for a new job. I'm a mid-career professional with 15 years of experience in my field. I've made the second round of interviews at three different organizations. I expect a job offer from at least one, possibly two of these places. I have NO IDEA how to negotiate a salary offer when it comes, and most of the advice I've found is geared to new college graduates, not people with more experience. How do I do this? [more inside]

I'm considering leaving the public sector for private. Please help me learn the smart way to negotiate employment offers and understand the real value of my current package.

I've been working in local government in a mid-level administrative job for six years. Can a Beggar Afford to be a Chooser in this Economy?

I was laid off from probably the nicest job/work environment I've ever had and the more job interviews I go to, the more I realize that I really want another work situation like the one I lost.
