I'm a soon-to-be college graduate and I have two job offers, one from a large company and another one from a smaller company. I'm also interviewing with two other companies, one of which I happen to really like. What do I do?

What are some common "win-win-style" tactics or phrases used during contract negotiation to get portions changed/removed? From time to time I need to write or talk about those issues without escalating any tensions.

I have an interview tomorrow. I had a phone interview that went well enough that they’ve asked me to meet other people on the team in person. The job seems like a good fit for my skills and based on what I’ve learned so far, I’d like the job. The issue: I’ve planned a month-long trip for July.

What are the words I should use in my salary negotiation? I know what I want and my alternatives, etc. However, I'm going to be asking for a significant percentage increase over the initial offer, and it feels uncomfortable. Give me a script!

What are some demands that can be made of a city (pop 250,000) that would immediately find benefit for 13 homeless people? Extra credit: Consider half these people probably need some mental help but would be pretty likely to refuse it.

I applied to Company's A and B. After about two weeks of interviews and talking to employees of each, Company A seemed better in nearly all respects. I received informal offers from both yesterday, but Company A specified a salary (which was well within the range I was looking for). I told company B this salary, but an hour or two later learned some things that ruled out company B pretty decisively. This morning Company B calls and offers me 10% more than Company A, and stock options (all other benefits being, afaik, equal). I realize I blew my chance at negotiation, but is there a way I can tactfully mention this to my now-employer, Company A? Could I expect them to offer a bit more, or to consider a raise more readily?

I'm looking at some foreclosed homes in the front-range area of Colorado. There is no shortage of "bank owned" homes in this area, and I happen to have a pretty good chunk of cash and I want to buy a home "outright" with cash, no loan. I was wondering if I could low-ball the asking price of the house, and what would be a reasonable, realistic amount to offer.

I'm looking for help negotiating my second year lease renewal monthly rate. How should I hold myself during the negotiation? What should or shouldn't I say? Should I actually go through the trouble of negotiating a lease with an apartment complex across the street, or is it sufficient to quote their price from the advertisement?
Also, for a current rent of $1999 and a quote for next year at $2299 what chance is there that I can negotiate $0 increase, $100 increase, $150 increase, etc.

Salary negotiation - how to do it? I know that,
in theory, you're supposed to get them to talk first. Does that really work? How do you do that without coming off like a jerk? Nowadays, the salary question starts in the first email. I generally deflect this question pretty well, but in the interview when they ask "What salary range are you looking for?" I run out of things to say. How do you answer this question? Give me specific phrases I can use. Based on an
earlier AskMe threads, the Noel Smith Wenkle approach works well. On the other hand... (more inside)
