I am going to be in LA the week of August 10th, and I'm dying to see a taping of the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. I put in a request for tickets, but the website said they are only taking reservations for September. Any MeFites have any inside tips on how to get tickets? [more inside]

I would like a list of the times Michael Phelps' gold medal races will be shown on NBC (EST). I can't seem to find this information online, or even the events in which he's competing. I can't use NBC's Olympic site to watch video because I can't install Silverlight.

Anyone know of a source for prints (or a schedule for their release) of the very cool Tim Sale pieces from NBC's 'Heroes?' I'd love to have a few in my office, but have sadly only found references to the charity auction that was run last year, and a sketchy UK front for mass oil reproductions from Chinese artists. Any insiders on the MeFi?

Name that sitcom: I vaguely remember seeing a sitcom about a college or university faculty, where a new lecturer arrives (teaching english lit?) and tries to get to grips with the job. He had long curly dark hair. I think the theme tune was the Eels' Novocaine for the soul, but given how easily googleable that should make it (which it isn't), I might be wrong on that. It was aired somewhere in the middle of the nineties on NBC, though it was NBC in europe, parts of which differ from the US NBC broadcast, so it might not have been on in the US at that time. The mother of a friend of the family was on NBC's Nightly News tonight in a short segment regarding soldiers away from tloved ones during the holidays. We missed the news broadcast today, and I can't find a clip of the video.
Looking around for torrents I TV shows, I found plenty of the usual suspects (sitcoms, cartoons, etc) but nothing on this newcast tonight. Heck no places that offer downloads of new programs period.
This would really mean a lot to my fiancee and brother in law. Can anyone help me out, please?
Thank you in advance. [more inside]

How many TV stations are there nationwide? ABC, NBC, FOX etc. have different listings for each market and would therefore be a seperate station to work for. Bonus for who has the best looking news anchor in your market.
