Is the theatrical 3D film experience (e.g. 'Monsters vs. Aliens') much better than it used to be? Eyestrain, headaches, nausea used to be what you suffered through in the old red-blue glasses days in order to say you saw a 3D movie...has that gotten good enough now that it's safe to take, e.g., a 7 year old boy to these things?

A tale of woe: I was walking in the woods and came upon a solitary cultivated plant which appeared to be marijuana by the shape of it's leaves. For reasons I can't explain (I've never enjoyed being stoned anyway), I picked one of the largely desicated 'buds' smoked it and within minutes felt horribly, horribly nauseated. What happened to me? I'm exceedingly susceptible to seasickness. I'm an avid scuba diver, and I'm now learning how to sail. Both activities put me in smallish boats, and if there's any chop, it's only a matter of time before I am leaning over the side. I don't want my inner ears to keep me from doing things that I enjoy. Please share your tips on keeping your inner ears happy and your lunch down. [more inside]

I'm wondering if anyone has a clear sense of the biochemical mechanisms that cause anticipatory anxiety to result in nausea, appetite disturbance and dry mouth. I often experience these symptoms when I'm worrying about some future event or possible outcome. I've read that researchers believe serotonin receptors in the stomach have something to do with this reaction, but I'm not sure if the process is well understood. Also, does anyone know of any medications that are effective in reducing anxiety-induced nausea or lack of appetite? I am using cognitive-behavioral therapy to deal with my anxiety, but it would be nice to get some immediate relief while I'm working on my thought processes.

I've never had PMS problems before outside of the occasional mild lower backache. I'm not on the pill because while my period is not on-the-dot regular, it does come every month for a fairly normal length of time and rate of flow. It has been easy to deal with. But for the past five or six months I've been getting Montezuma's Revenge bad at the onset of my period. What gives? [more inside]

I'm currently on 10mg of Prozac a day. I find that it works really well, except for the fact that I want to throw up whenever I'm in a moving vehicle that's stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic, due to the stop and go motion. Sometimes, even driving around on service streets can make me sick. I've already tried other meds, including Celexa (did absolutely nothing for me) and Serzone (made me want to sleep 15 hours a day.) Has anyone else had this problem? How did you manage it? If you have any remedies or tips for preventing nausea as a whole, I would also be interested in hearing them. Thanks to everyone in advance.

So this upper-GI endoscopy thing I keep hearing about. Uh, is there anyway you can request one of those new capsule endoscopies? Apparently the also don't knock you out. Personally I'd rather have to swallow a capsule then have them snaking a tube down my throat while I'm awake. Can I demand being knocked out? Am I the patient that doctor's roll their eyes at?
