Does anyone have any recommendations for books/websites/other resources about Thunderbirds? And I don't mean the car or the email client. I'm looking for anything at all about both the various Native American mythological traditions (Southwestern American in particular) or the cryptozoological urban legends about the things. My Amazon and web searches have, well, mostly gotten me cars, email clients, and turquoise jewelry.

Identity crisis filter: ethnicity edition. Did you grow up one ethnicity, and choose another later in life? Do you identify with one ethnicity over another, even though both are in your lineage? Did you deny your ethnicity throughout life, then later claim it?
I need some help working through my ethnicity self-identification, also in the ways of culture appropriation.

I'm a reference librarian trying to help a patron find some information. The father of her children claimed to be Native American, but she is no longer in contact with him. She does have his first and last name and social security number, but no other information. She would like to find out whether he was telling the truth and what tribe he was part of, and share that information with her kids. I've told her that her best bet is to check the tribal rolls in the area that he lived, but she hasn't had any luck there. Any other suggestions?

I inherited a
bunch of
Native American jewelry (several hundred pieces in total) several years ago. I'm thinking about selling some of it, but I'm not sure of the value. Do I need to find a specialist to appraise it? Can you recommend one near St. Louis?

While traveling in Italy, I happened to notice Native American tattoos on more than one youngish Italian man. Was this just a coincidence, or is there a preoccupation or admiration of Native American culture among Italians?
