This song has been in my head since I last saw a Coyotes game a week ago... and this is the best I could record from tonight's broadcast. It's the arena's music behind the announcer so it's tough to make out, fades out for a bit, but then comes back at the end on what sounds like the hook/chorus. Please hope. Here's the clip.
Hivemind... what two songs are these?
Once upon a time I heard a track which included a clip of a child's voice saying "when I grow up, I wanna be a DJ". The sample popped into my head again last night and I am trying to figure out where it came from. I think maybe Skrillex or somebody like that sampled it recently, but it came from something older. Does this sound familiar? What am I thinking of?
I went to Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind on a trip to Chicago in May. During one play called Shred, a super awesome song was played and I really want to find it again! [more inside]
Do you know what this music is? https://vid.me/PdCQ I filmed this standing on a conrner and the music was playing from an LCD/LED billboard behind me. Maybe someone who lives in Shanghai knows if it's music from an ad? Or some music buff can tell me if it's a known tune, that I can get a proper version of somewhere? [more inside]
In the 1958 B-picture "Murder By Contract," a woman plays the piano starting about 33 minutes in. Can you tell what she's playing? Clip inside! [more inside]
Try to identify the Spanish-language song I heard yesterday at Don Pablo's, a Tex-Mex chain restaurant. I'll list everything I remember about it. [more inside]
I recently heard A Piece of Ground by Miriam Makeba. I am certain that I have never heard these lyrics before, but I am almost equally certain that I know the tune. But I can't think of where I know it from, and it's driving me crazy! What other songs have this tune? Vague ideas about where I might know it from inside. [more inside]
Name this song! It was on 9.07 WFUV in NYC at 2pm a few Sunday's back during a Gaelic music show. Pretty sure it's in Gaelic. But I can't find the playlists for that show on WFUV. It is funky .
I have a vague memory of seeing someone perform a percussion piece where they swung a rope in each hand with a weight on the end. They would sometimes allow the weight to strike the wooden resonating chamber to make a "clack" sound. In so doing, they were able to clack out some surprisingly complex rhythms. Does this instrument/technique have a name? What is it? And most importantly, where can I find some videos of people doing it?
Heard the song in a restaurant and liked it, but don't have a copy of Shazam. Here's what I could hear / learned: [more inside]
I've had this song in my head all day and I can't think the title or composer! I remember playing it in concert band years ago but can't really recall much else besides the main motif. [more inside]
I have a piece of a song stuck in my head and it's apparently not enough for google to be of any use. It's an 80's or 90's song, with a guy's voice sort of chanting "ooh ma ma way" in an african-y sounding way with a heavy bass line. I feel like it was used a lot in soundtracks to represent a journey or something like that, because it reminds me of solsbury hill. if anyone can name this song, i know it's you lovely mefites.
A friend of mine's been watching the anime "A Certain Scientific Railgun S", and he's been having trouble identifying one of the incidental music pieces. It's in episode 11, from 17:52 to 20:00--what song is this (mp3), used here, and which of the OSTs is it on, if any? He says he's searched them all, including a second Railgun S OST which apparently came out yesterday, but he can't seem to find it, though he admits that he might have missed it along the line. Any help you can offer he'd appreciate. Thanks!
Can anybody identify this Chinese language song? At least, we think it's Chinese. A friend of mine found it somewhere totally devoid of context, and now we're wondering what it is and where it's from. Any help you can give us would be just fine.

Ska band with a horn section. Prominent piano (?) chords on the off-beat, following the pattern I i i iv. No, that's not a typo: the first tonic chord is major, the rest are minor. Name that tune?

I've heard this pop song a couple times on the jukebox, full of bass guitar. The vocals sound like Steve Winwood and the chorus phrase I think I hear is "hearts on fire", but this song is nothing like Steve Winwood's Hearts On Fire. Hep meh?
Can you help me identify the country-ish/folky song in my head? [more inside]
Can anyone on the green tell me if Mit Viel Gluck by 2 Raumwohnung is a cover of a song and, if so, which song? The first time I heard this song I was instantly confident that just about anyone could tell me what song the tune came from. Several attempts to find out later and I'm wondering if I'm simply imagining that I know it. It's so maddeningly familiar -- particularly around the 1:12 mark. Can anyone help?

SONGFILTER It's a good one. I consider myself a music aficionado, but I still am stumped on this one. My buddy thinks it's from a movie soundtrack, I' not too sure it is - but we both definitely recognize the hook. We transcribed it into notes for you all - more after the jump... [more inside]

I need help identifying a song, that I thought was in a commercial, but can't remember where I heard it. [more inside]
I've been looking for an old CD my parents used to play when I was little, caled "here come the hits", but it doesn't seem to be anywhere visible. In fact, it seems to have dropped out of existence entirely; I can't even find a tracklisting on the internet so I can gather the songs from other sources. I know "shout" by tears for fears was one of the songs, and "black cars look better in the shade" and "one night in bangkok" are likely contenders. Can somebody help me find an official tracklist for this album of 80's one-hit-wonders so I can get some closure?
You've heard these famous seven notes (SLYT) countless times, can you identify where they originated or what they're called? Do they have a name? [more inside]

Do you recognize this melody? I remember an elementary school friend playing this during his lessons about 15 years ago. This is a 20 second recording of how I remember it now.
Can anyone identify the repeated clip of music in this flash movie? Warning: this is more difficult than these things usually are. WARNING: STROBING LIGHTS, ALSO SORT OF OFFENSIVE TOWARDS PEOPLE WITH EPILEPSY.

Another "what's this song?" question. Google-fu and music search engines failed me. Lyrics that I can remember of it are inside. [more inside]
Please help me name this tune. It was featured in "Summer Games" for the Commodore 64, but it's not the Olympic theme song nor a national anthem (or is it?).
Remember Cher's "Believe" from a few years ago ("Do you believe in life after love?") I heard an ironic, great version of it on the radio yesterday. I couldn't find it in the station playlists. It has a male vocalist and uses the same vocodor distortion effect on the chorus as the Cher version. Who is it? (PS, it isn't The Luxury Liners.)
Help me find this rap song.. the chorus is something like "20% sweat, 30% tears, 50% ambition, 10% dreams.." and on the verses, each rapper talks about how great his co-rappers are, not about himself. [more inside]

What song is this? [more inside]
Name that tune!! It was used in commercials to advertise the HBO film "Empire Falls", and now to advertise a new show coming in the fall - E-Ring maybe? Anyway - it's kind of pop-rock sounding, male vocal. Lyrics: Something like - even when you cannot hear me ... I'll be right beside you dear.
