Is there a non-iTunes music player for OSX which can handle multiple file formats, and can be told not to go online for data? [more inside]
Seeking a recommendation for an android music player that will only look in certain folders. My current "Music Player" app looks all over my phone, and as a result it shows me a confusing mix of albums and podcasts. Doggcatcher sees only my podcasts; I want a music player that sees only my music folders.
I like to listen to albums and playlists from my music collection on my iPhone. I don't need a streaming service, or radio, or recommendations, or social networks. I just want a simple user interface that lets me pick out an album (or maybe a playlist) and listen to it. Does such a thing exist for iOS? The built-in music app has gotten way too complicated, and does not work well for me or my family. [more inside]
After years of avoiding iTunes 11, a new laptop (Windows 8) has recently forced my hand. Needless, to say I'm unimpressed. More to the point, as a semi-pro-DJ who works from rather large playlists and loves working with shuffled playlists, I have some rather particular needs ... [more inside]
I have a Galaxy 3s. I've been using the Google Play music app to listen to music but using the Windows Media Player to rip CDs and sync to my phone. I've been storing music on my SD card. The music is there on my phone but the app doesn't seem to find it when I search for the name. I am sad because those vital tunes are not available while i'm on the go! [more inside]
What non-itunes music software can make complex smart playlists based on logical rules? [more inside]
My XP system is going off-line in April. It will stay in operation, running in tandem with a new W8.1 system, that will be its conduit onto the web. I need to keep XP running because some of my $$$$$ drafting software will not run on 8.1. 8.1 is also, IMHO, irritating. Can my Dell T3400 workstation, 4 GB, be used as a music center with a sound card upgrade? I have tried the system, as it is configured, with Sennheiser TR220 headphones. The sound is horrible. The CD player in my truck sounds better. Part of the sound problems are caused by background processes that interrupt the sound output. Clearing most of the Start Menu and everything concerned with internet operation should stop this part of the problem. I am considering an ASUS Xonar Essence ST Headphone sound card. Would this card in my XP system with the Sennheiser TR220 headphones be reasonably equivalent to a good stand alone sound system? Might another card be better than the Asus? I am avoiding a separate player due to limited space in my office.
I'm looking for a Android music player app that will read the artist and track name out-loud. [more inside]
Is there any way to make the new iTunes tighter and more minimalist? For example, I want my podcast and artist lists to be like the small-font, compact lists they used to be. Similar to the column browser, but on the side, NOT the top (which is all kinds of stupid up there). Basically, I want to see as many artists as possible with as little scrolling as possible. Any add-on or script or setting I'm overlooking that could take care of this, and perhaps other inefficiencies of the new iTunes?
Wordpress help. I am using this theme with this music player. How do I make one of the links at the top (like Home, Categories, About, Contacts) popout a window properly sized for the player?
I'm looking for an mp3 player that allows me to drag and drop music without the need of software that works with Ubuntu and can play back Audible DRM'ed files. Budget of £100.
Please tell me how to code a music player like the one on this web site. [more inside]
I have a 100g+ and growing music collection that needs proper management. Currently I just dump it in to winamp and hit shuffle, but that doesn't help me tag or organize the stuff, and sometimes the transitions between songs are pretty jarring, e.g. it'll jump from Tortoise to Black Flag. I'm looking for software or winamp plugin(s) that can fix both these problems: [more inside]
I'm looking for an MP3 player that you can treat like a USB drive. In other words, I want to load MP3s onto it by just plugging the device into my machine and the copying files over. I do not want to use a specialized program like Itunes, and I want to use a standard USB or Firewire cable to plug the device into my computer. [more inside]
Can anyone recommend a sturdy armband holder (for working out) for the iPod Nano (current version) that will work with the FM tuner attachment? I've looked at a half dozen on Amazon and it seems like they only have a small headphone out on the bottom, and none will take the larger dock-like block that the FM tuner attaches to.
I really dislike iTunes. What else can I use? [more inside]
