What is some fun, lo-fi, electronic pop music? Emphasis on the pop. I've heard Nullsleep and some of the other 'chip' musicians, and they're too techno-y for my tastes. I'm looking for something more along the lines of the tracks on the Life Aquatic soundtrack.
Asking for my wife... There's a Gap TV ad running in the U.S. this month, featuring a "Daddy-O" song. Any one know the artist and actual song title? Sorry I don't have more info.

Right now, I've got a cassette of its 1990 performance for Garrison Keillor's "American Radio Company: The First Season," but I'd like it on CD or MP3. (Is video even available??) Thanks in advance for all your help!!

MathFilter: What are the odds? I have exactly 5,115 mp3's on my iPod. I was just sitting here at work listening to it shuffle through stuff. "Me, Myself, and I" by De La Soul came on, THEN when that was over it was immediately followed by "Freak" by George Clinton. The De La Soul track samples heavily from "Freak". What are the mathematical odds that the next track in a random playlist would be the sample source of the previous song?

I just heard a great track on the radio, it was an Indian pop piece, of the sort of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan style. The band or artist went by the name of `fundamental *something*'. The announcer mentioned that he had in some way worked with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, but I couldn't hear it properly. Any ideas? I'd love to find more of this work.

What is the sound first heard in Lazy Lover by the Brazilian Girls (heard at a later part in the song in samples found here)? I saw them live last night and it was, as I expected, sampled/synthesized and possibly hawaiian in origin.triggered via keyboard... It may be a unique sound, but I could have sworn I've heard it somewhere else, and that it's a real instrument, and I associate it with hawaii for some reason.
