I need help to create the Legend of Zelda "get item" sound in MIDI I am working on a robot that is capable of creating MIDI songs and I want it to make the sound of when you get an item in the traditional legend of Zelda games.

Who created this catchy, possibly Russian piece of music?

What is the (possibly Russian?) piece of music in this video about a Moscow performance artist who shares his home with a llama? I think it includes an accordion and a mandolin. Shazam was no help, and I don't really know where to go from there. There are some vocals starting around 0:40, although I'm unsure if they're lyrics in a foreign tongue or simply time-keeping nonsense sounds. I've found the video a few other places on the web (youtube, metacafe), but neither offers any credit as to the source of the clip or music credits. The footage itself seems to lifted directly from this clip, credited to ITN, but that's all I've got. Can you help me, hivemind?

I want to watch this video again.

ForgottenSongTitleAndArtistFilter: the song: bouncy and loud, sung by a solo female. The lyrics equate love with physical abuse. (Like being hit with love, or our hearts beating one another, something like that. It reminds me of the Cardigans "And then You Kissed Me.") the video: a mostly white backdrop, and said female vocalist cavorting around, dancing and shadowboxing. Possibly things are on fire? There is a bed, and pillows, and maybe even streamers. That's all I have. Please help.

Okay, so how are people making those video remixes that are ever so popular right now? I can see it happening a few different ways:

1) They rip the original video from YouTube and pull it into Final Cut or whatever, and edit the sound bites and video with the music (made in some other program, presumably).
2) They rip the video from YouTube and bring the audio only into an audio/music program, and then re-edit the video to match the audio.
3) Some other way I'm not thinking?

What software are people using?

Need more live punk rock, please.

What are some really great "learn by example" music tutorial websites? Somebody gave me a ukulele and I have been having a great time with tutorial sites like Aldrine Guerrero's "Ukulele Underground", Jim Rosokoff's "Doctor Ukulele", and the songs of "Ukulele Mike" (Michael Lynch). They are free, informative and entertaining enough (I think) to appeal even to people who are not studying to play. So what are the great sites out there for people studying other instruments? I'm thinking, in particular, of ones where somebody includes audio or video of them playing or singing.

Have cymatics techniques been used in music videos?

Cymatics techniques used in music videos Just saw this video: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/visualizations/timelines/ on TED, and at the very end are various DIY screenshots from individuals who have used the technique for artistic purposes. I saw one and it reminded me of some kind of electronic muscician's music video. Perhaps the music video for a Squarepusher or Aphex Twins song might have been where I believe I've seen this technique.

Can anyone direct me to production facilities that have done this for music videos, or links to the music videos themselves?

I was watching the Chumbawumba "Tubthumping" video, and while it's obvious that most of the women in the bathroom scenes are men in drag, I wasn't so sure about one: am I right in saying that the woman we see mouthing to "pissing the night away", "oh, Danny boy, Danny boy", and "don't cry for me, next door neighbor" is the lead singer in drag?

Is it horribly expensive to license snippets of music for videos that I share on my blog? I have a blog that I use to share pics and videos with my friends and family. I post, at most, 2 videos a month. They're usually about 30 - 40 seconds. Because the audio on these is usually my wife and I encouraging our kid to walk in the stupid tones you use when talking to kids, I want to replace the audio track with music.

I have a large, legal, personal library and can usually think of the right song to use pretty quickly. I'd much rather pay a reasonable fee to be allowed to add a bit of a commercial tune to my video than to spend time searching for an appropriate license free piece of music.

Is this an option? I don't want to do a bunch of paperwork every time I use a different song, I'm looking for some kind of central licensing body that can take, say $20 a year and license me to use bits of songs in my library on videos that are going on the internet where, in theory, anyone in the world could see them, but in practice would only be viewed by my mum and her cat.

Good music for video slideshows of kids? Lately I've really been into creating cheesy videos of our weekend adventures with the stepkids to post on our (private) blog to share with friends and family. I seem to be running out of good soundtrack music (but not pictures!), and need suggestions.

I really like lighthearted, whimsical, and upbeat music. Some indie rock is also nice.

Help me find Video of English girl group trio The Pipettes playing with only a (very raspy) keyboard in a live appearance? It must be a record store but I have this memory of it being a library. Song was probably We are the Pipettes. Sound quality is quite good & camera is steady. I've searched for over an hour and found plenty of camera phone video of concerts backed by their band and a few record store and radio station videos backed by acoustic guitar. This video was neat because of the contrast between smooth vocal harmony and that raspy "Planet Claire" keyboard. It's also a nice example of a completely dry (no reverb on keys or vox) sound that still sounds full & rich.

Youtube-only music that's awesome? I really liked this. Please point me to other musical things on youtube, or other video sites, that aren't available anywhere else.

The key is that they should work and be great songs without any video at all. (I hope to add the audio tracks, sans video, to my music collection.)

It's not enough to feature a shot of the bridge from afar; a person or a camera must be physically traveling across it. Any genre, any era. For each Little League season, my wife makes a video for the team. Depending on the amount of footage she has, she'll make one video of defensive plays and one for offense. Our problem is that we are running out of songs. Can you suggest songs appropriate for a team of 8 year old ball players? The song doesn't have to be baseball oriented, but it should be upbeat, and not overtly sexual. Cussing beyond "damn" or "hell" is right out. A recent song that the boys would know is a bonus, but it's more about the feel of the song than the vintage.

Soundtrack ideas needed. My uncle is a Vietnam vet, and he's dying of cancer. He mentioned to my mother that he regrets never visiting the Memorial Wall in DC.
I live in Philly, so yesterday my wife and I drove down and took a few hundred photos and video taped a slow walk along the whole length. I've put this together as a slide show and a movie using iDVD. Now I'm looking for accompanying music and can't decide what to use.
I need two songs: one for the video of walking along the wall, which lasts 5:46, and one for the slideshow, which lasts about 2 minutes, although this time is flexible.
I want to avoid classical music, which is kind of a cliche for this sort of thing. I'd like a somber tone, but not too much so, if you know what I mean. Music from the period preferred.

Help me find that music video!

Need help remembering a music video a bit like the ThruYOU one. must have been late 90s or just around the Millenium: I saw a music video where you could see a jazz band (I think in front of a velvet curtain - or something similar). now the music style was kind of acid jazz electronic music and made up of jazz samples. and whenever the sample was heard one could see corresponding musician play that sample - over and over again...

i really liked this - but I've never seen the video again. and I remembered it when I saw the ThruYOU video recently. it's quite similar, although the musicians in the thru-you video are not "in the same band".

anybody? this has been a burning quest for me for such a long time. thanks in advance and I apologize for my clumsy English.

Some time in the past year I saw a strange, but well shot music video that shows attractive women in bikinis eating and rubbing food and condiments on themselves. Who is this video by, and where can I find it? This video may have been accompanied by techno music, but I'm not sure. It was particularly striking because of the dissonance between the women's appearances and their behavior.

I am trying to remember the name/artist of an 80s music video. In it, the guy wore a glowing (bluescreen/transparent) suit and stumbled across the nighttime countryside while singing mournfully and freaking people out. It was kind of creepy, at the end he dissipates in a glow like an alien/angel while the scowling townsfolk converge on him. British artist, possibly Ned or Nick something. Anyone able to help me find this?
