I think my question might be too vague to google properly, so I turn to you.
I'm looking for a wide variety of songs about cities. Not necessarily about a specific city, but in general.
A couple of examples of the type of song I'm looking for is Dread the Day (Ghosts of Lemora) and Take Back the City (Snow Patrol).
I don't care about musical genre. I'll listen to just about anything. :)

Hi, I would like to know song's that are similar to Club De Narcisse (some websites display the song name as Club Le Narcisse). This is from Malcolm McLaren's album Paris. By similar I don't mean songs by Malcolm McLaren. By similar I mean songs that have the same musical structure, beat, flow, rhythm and genome attributes. [more inside]

I'm compiling a list of the best songs of the 2000s. The ones that aren't just "Ah, that's kinda nice," but that you have to stop yourself from listening to on a repeat loop. The songs you'd make sure to put on a mix CD for a friend who hasn't paid attention to new music in this whole decade and wants to know what they missed. (This is for a blog post.) [more inside]

Hi, I would like to know song's that are similar to Let's Get Loud. By similar I don't mean songs by Jennifer Lopez. By similar I mean songs that have the same musical structure, beat, flow, rhythm and genome attributes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Music_Genome_Project_attributes). I have no access in Pandora's music service so I need specific answers. Song titles and artist's name will do. Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

PF Project's song Choose Life is constructed from samples of a monologue by the lead character of the film Trainspotting. Similarly, This Is Your Life by the Dust Brothers is built around samples from the film Fight Club reformulated as a monologue and overlaid on some trip-hop beats. Neither was actually featured in the film, but were released as singles and appeared on the soundtrack. What other songs like this are there?

I run a Slowdance Night every few months, complete with dancecards, a mirrorball, and designated dancers (for the wallflowers). It's a fabulous time, but here's my problem. The music that hooks my nostalgia ends in the late 80's, early 90's. After that, for some reason, I kind of stopped listening to music. Thus, my playlist climaxes with a lot of 80's songs. But I've been noticing the demographic has been skewing younger the past couple of dances. Could you suggest some slowdance songs and ballads from the last two decades that I might dovetail into my established set? Thanks.

So I recently came to the end of correcting all the ID3 tags on my massive music collection. The last 14 or so took me more time than I'm willing to admit to track down information on. But I knew at the end which two would remain.
I've had these two songs in my collection for at least a decade now, and every time I've tried to find any information on the song titles, artist, or even lyrics, I've turned up nothing. I've tried all kinds of tricks I know for finding even the most obscure information on the internet, but still nothing. As a firm believer that anything which exists can be found on the internet, I find myself troubled that these songs, which clearly exist, apparently do not.

I'm trying to track down a song I remember hearing on the local college station about 10 years ago (WDBM in East Lansing, MI). I think some of the lyrics were along the lines of "Consider / all the carrots you've been fed / and now they're your ______ ______ / And consider"....etc. I'm 95% sure it was a guy singing, and I think the song had something to do with being led through life by "carrots" of dubious merit. Google hasn't yielded the answer - thanks!

Hi, this is Mr_Zero's daughter. I just listened to King Herod's Song from Jesus Christ Superstar. Recently, my dad had me watch The Year Without Santa Claus which features two catchy tunes by the Miser brothers. Is it me or does King Herod's Song sound just like a double speed Miser song? I have limited music understanding as I have only played violin for 4 years. However, the two songs sound very much alike to me. Has anybody else made this correlation?

I rarely pay attention to lyrics in a song - when I do, it's usually because of strong imagery or a really twisted message. I'd love to find songs now based on lyric recommendations - what are your favorites? Powerful, or hidden, or just especially memorable. And not limited to any particular genre nor subject, either. I just want songs that will make me pause and think over what I heard, rather than go "Ahh, pretty sounds!"
