DissectingArtFilter: I'd like to start to understand how certain (in my eyes, fantastic) lyrics are devised. Specifically, Stephen Malkmus's lyrics, as a part of Pavement. For instance, Gold Soundz. I can pick out some slant rhymes, and certain other techniques but can't figure out how they work in the context of the entire piece. I know that melody plays a huge role in making the song what it is, but sort of focusing on the lyrics part - any words of wisdom. (and yes, I'm possibly writing lyrics for my band at some point)

I'm trying to find a poster of Ludwig van Beethoven for my wall at home.
I would love to have a poster with an image of Beethoven, perhaps some notes or sheet music, and some of the text (the original German, not a translation) of the Choral movement of the 9th. Obviously, I want something very specific. I've looked at allposters.com and several other online poster sites and I haven't found quite what I'm looking for. Does such a thing exist?

Years ago at school, I remember a video on Afro-Futurism. More than one instructor screened the video for my classes, so I've seen it a handful of times - but I can't remember the title, or where I can find it. I'm 90% sure it featured Kodwo Eshun extensively, as a "time traveler" who was researching the roots of Afro-Futurism and technology. It was focusing on music, mostly.

In trance/techno music, where does the following pattern come from: A major bass hit on the first beat of the measure, then doubling to the first and third beat a couple measures later, then every beat, then eighth notes, sixteenth notes - usually accompanied by a melodic glissando climbing octaves or a vocal loop stuttering - until it releases (usually to a short pause) and then plunges into the full bass loop (and usually the chorus). Where'd this come from? What/who was the first song or DJ to use it?
