I'm trying to find
this song. It is from 3'30" until 4'05". I can't make out the lyrics very well. Maybe 'Turn it up' or 'Turn me on'. I recognise it and it's driving me around the bend. Anyone?
Thanks

Just heard
this song by the Wombats. I reminds me very strongly of another song or type of sound. Can you help me identify where I've heard a song (or sound) like this? It seems very strongly eighties to me, but I can't put my finger on it.

Musical question: back in the 80s I heard a cover of Al Green's Rhymes. It was a snarkier, Gen Xy, punkish version. Very distinctive vocals, kind of raspy and whiny. I don't remember the music behind it much which makes me think it was minimalistic. I want to say the singer's name was Chris something? Who did this version? I have faith some mefite well versed in obscure music will come to my aid. Thanks!

Does anyone know where my sister could get an mp3 of a cover version of "Lean on Me" from "The California Raisins Sing the Hit Songs" (1987). We had it on a tape as kids and she's making a nostalgia CD.
Can't find it in itunes or amazon... Local libraries don't have it, CD is expensive. I tried a bit of filetype:mp3 searching and didn't turn up much...

Please help me find out the name of this song and who performed it. I'm pretty sure it was 1985 when I heard this song on the radio. It was kind of an oddball novelty song that used a lot of sounds like ticking and ringing clocks.

I am looking for music that evokes the spirit of nostalgic, 70s-80s-era, variety show, Saturday morning cartoon, vintage game show-style aesthetics, like
The Go! Team or...umm -- well, anything that sounds like TG!T really, then.

I am trying to remember the name/artist of an 80s music video. In it, the guy wore a glowing (bluescreen/transparent) suit and stumbled across the nighttime countryside while singing mournfully and freaking people out. It was kind of creepy, at the end he dissipates in a glow like an alien/angel while the scowling townsfolk converge on him. British artist, possibly Ned or Nick something. Anyone able to help me find this?

I've been looking for an old CD my parents used to play when I was little, caled "here come the hits", but it doesn't seem to be anywhere visible. In fact, it seems to have dropped out of existence entirely; I can't even find a tracklisting on the internet so I can gather the songs from other sources.
I know "shout" by tears for fears was one of the songs, and "black cars look better in the shade" and "one night in bangkok" are likely contenders. Can somebody help me find an official tracklist for this album of 80's one-hit-wonders so I can get some closure?

What are some good 70's and 80's songs suitable for playing in a pharmacy?
My father owns a family pharmacy and we have an iPod with nice 70's and 80's songs set to play for the customers. Can you tell me some that I can add to the playlist? Remember nice calm easy listening ones are best, and no dirty or bad songs about dying etc.. To get an idea of some of the songs I have
here's a link to the playlist so far.
Specific songs are great, but I will also take artists. Try not to give duplicates. If 10 people give 10 songs that's 100 new songs! Thanks!

MusicvideoFilter: Animated mid to late 80s brazilian(?) music video on MTV, what was it? This has been bugging me for decades. There was a video shown on MTV for a while in the mid-to-late 80's that I'd love to see or hear again. I think the band was Brazilian, or at least latin. The video was animated colored drawings on a black background and did a lot of morphing from one thing to another. Can the hive mind mind put me on the right track?

Ever more song identification madness. Late 80's industrial dance song with a man's voice saying "close the window, won't you darling?" (or possibly "open the window, won't you darling?"). Fairly certain the lyric "I hate the light" (or "I hate delight") was prominent. I thought it was an A Split Second song, but my attempts to track it down have failed.
