Otherworldly choral elements in music - help me find some more. Been listening a lot at the moment to songs by Grizzly Bear (like Foreground, Cheerleader and I Live With You) and Bjork (in particular Unison) which have the most gorgeous, ethereal choral sounds drifting through them. What else might I like that uses similar sounds to colour the songs?
I'm not looking for choral music as such, rather rock/electronica which uses choirs to colour the sound and make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

Two part question: 1) What modern pop/hip-hop song has a very danceable beat and the word "melody" in it? It reminds me of "Down" by Jay Sean, but I don't think that's it.
2) How can I keep up to date on all these guilty-pleasure hip-hop singles? [more inside]

Musicfilter: Looking for a song for a friends retirement. She's retiring from high school English teaching after 34 years. We're looking for something along the lines of: upbeat, rock and roll genre, has a positive message, sad to leave friends but happy to not grade any more papers, hoping she left a positive influence. She is considering a couple of songs, one by the Association, one by the Eagles and one by Daughtry (she can't remember the titles of the songs).
All clever and fun recommendations are appreciated.

I'm trying to figure out which party to take to small claims court or if i should take both. The band i play in was hired to play at a bar by a promoter we have worked with before. At the end of the night there was no check and still is no check. We have sent a demand payment letter to both club owner and promoter and both claim they are not responsible for paying us. Do we sue both or just the club owner ?

I really like mashups that juxtapose hip-hop/R&B/reggae with classic rock/radio pop. Some good examples are Girl Talk's music, this Biggie Smalls/Miley Cyrus mashup, and this Beatles/Black Eyed Peas/Ludacris/ etc mashup. What are the best executed and most fun ones you've heard?

Certain songs bring out memories for me and that's normal. But sometimes, I hear a song that I listened to during a particularly bad time in my life and I'm afraid that I will re-live that time, or even more stupidly, that I will re-experience it. How do I stop doing this to myself? There's some great music out there that I'm withholding myself from. [more inside]
