A question from my father I've been unable to answer: "YEARS ago, I recall watching what I believe was Jim Henson's first performance on the Ed Sullivan (TV) show. It was a tell (on stilts) black monster against a black background, dancing and dodging about in time with Halloween-style (monster) music. This was a LARGE monster, waaaay bigger than Cookie Monster, and was definitely not a hand puppet. It was a guy on stilts, covered with this monster outfit (I think), and it was a good act!!! ---Does ANYone remember this? I cannot find it on YouTube or Google......"
In The Muppets Take Manhattan, there's a scene where a lady bear snuggles up to Fozzie, and he appears visibly panicked, calling for Kermit in a way that suggests he doesn't know how to navigate the situation. Have there ever been any Muppet appearances where Fozzie has romantic interactions with anyone, of any gender? If so, who? Has any Muppet media ever implied that Fozzie Bear is heterosexual?
Who is this muppet? This is from a set of Sesame Street flash cards. Google has failed me.
Before or after seeing the Muppet movie, I want to have a party. A muppety party. What foods can I serve? Vegetarian foods are best, but not strictly necessary. Buffet-style is probably easiest. [more inside]
MuppetFilter: Who was that guy? [more inside]
Where can I learn the skills needed to be a successful puppeteer? Are there places in where Miami can I take classes? Are there quality books or websites on the subject? [more inside]
I have a memory of some rather sinister goings-on on the Muppet Show. Am I making this up? I recall a guest on the show (possibly Liza Minelli) being attacked in his/her dressing room by something called a "clanger". It happened in the dark and there was possibly more than one. My memory of the clanger itself is of a tall piece of wire bent at the top, something like an upside-down letter "L". Were these actually characters on the show or did I just have an overactive imagination as a child?
