How do you multiply probability across multiple chances? Let's say that every time you roll a die, you have a one-in-six chance of having five come up. What math would you perform to come up with the probability of five coming up at some point with the dice being rolled two times? Three? Five? Ten? (I'm using dice as a shorthand here: the actual probability figure I'm working with is 24%.)

My university department has a dept.com as well as a dept.univ.edu domain. The .com is just a pointer to the .edu. dept.com is the top google result for searches on our name, but results for dept.univ.edu are buried many pages deep. Here is the problem: there is now a problem with registration of dept.com, so Google's links are not working. What can we do? Is it possible to have Google replace instances of one with another or something? [more inside]

GoogleFu has failed; I'm working on a project for school and I need to find the prevalence of Multiple Sclerosis for North Carolina, how the prevalence has changed over the past 50 years, and what age groups have shown the greatest increase in MS in the past 10 years. Any one know where I could find this information, not only for North Carolina, but for other states as well?

I have a question about bidding on eBay. Take a look at the bid history for this crazy auction to get a place on UK TV's Big Brother programme. Why are some bidders such as ceo_of_crazy_thursdays, puppy_sandwich and robthecricketer posting multiple bids in a row which often add thousands onto the price? Why not post just one big bid? Even stranger, why put up the price so much with sucessive bids before waiting to see who outbids you? The actions of these people appear to only serve to help the seller as it'll massivily boost the final price - so is this some sort of scam?

How do I merge/combine 4 separate photographs onto a single sheet? This is for an insurance record. Four separate photos might be more easily lost in my insurance agents' filing cabinet. i need to keep the four separate images intact and unmodified. I have Photoshop Elements 3, Photoshop 7 (which I have never used) and Corel Photopaint 8 and could not find (or did not know how to properly phrase a question to find) a description of how to do this I any of these programs. Can this be done in any of these programs? I would prefer to use PE3.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
I'm not expecting a cure: just stuff that's helped fellow sufferers.
Apart from the drugs I'm prescribed: I'm trying a low fat/dairy diet, taking multi-vitamins, fish oil & evening primrose oil (which, as a combinaton, aren't a bad thing for me)
Is there anything else that someone with MS has found helpful that I don't know about? I'm thinking about acupuncture? specific exercises? suppliments? or dietary changes? or anything really.

Switching Identities in Microsoft Outlook
I'm now at a computer that has Microsoft Outlook instead of Outlook Express. If I want 2 different email boxes/addresses/ etc. - how do I do it? It doesn't seem to have the Identity Switching feature that Outlook Express had.
I can set up another email address but mail to it ends up in my default Inbox.
Can I set up multiple identities?
Can I at least set up my mail so that each identity has a different in and out box?

Is there any good solution for multi-url blog software? I've got a bunch of domains, and I want to run different blogs on each of them, but I don't want to have to install, say, a separate copy of Wordpress for each of them (and then have to go update all of them individually when there's an update). They're all located on the same physical server (linux/Apache).
Any ideas?

I'm looking for a weblogging system for an academic course. Unfortunately, MT and Blogger don't seem to meet my needs: it has to have multiple users, user groups, and posts need to have access control (certain posts can only be read by certain groups). LiveJournal offers this, but I don't want to have to set up an entire LJ server. Is there some kind of middle ground?
