I run a website that hosts almost 2,000 sermon MP3s (all content that we own or have permission to host). I have one iPhone user who says that when they listen to THIS SERMON (just the first 2.5 minutes) the audio skips and loops back to the beginning. I had 4 other iPhone users listen and cannot reproduce this issue. I have Googled until my fingers bled. Anyone know what could be causing this? It plays fine on Windows and Linux as well.
I have a whole crapload of MP3s on my work computer. I cannot access iTunes at work or download it. My company blocks it. I have no working computer at home. How do I get these files on my iPhone 4S? Thanks
I have a "premium" subscription to Mark Maron's "WTF" podcast, but do not have a smartphone. The hoster, Libsyn, does not offer downloads for the premium episodes unless you are using their app. [more inside]

I have a record player from the 1970s (a Garrard 2025 TC to be exact). How difficult (or risky) would it be to replace the sound input from the tape deck with a mini-jack input so that I can play MP3s (such as from an iPod) through the speakers? Is it just a matter of taking the back off, cutting wires and splicing them together?
What am I doing wrong? iTunes is moving my music folders around causing havoc. [more inside]
XLD was working fine unless I have too many albums (such as 30 folders/albums apiece). I am not figuring out the interface on MAX for a batch conversion with several subfolders. I basically am using VBR to compress my music to smaller mp3 format. On XLD, there is Preferences-->Preserve directory structure-->subdirectory search depth "0", which makes it work on a small scale, like 10 folders or so, before crashing. So, if anyone can tell me what I am missing on MAX's menu or if they had the problem with XLD and fixed it, I am good to go. I like XLD's interface but it won't process my whole iTunes at a go.
So, I'm an audiobook junky and my current mp3 player is starting to go. My past few MP3 players have been various models of the SanDisk Sansa lines (e260, Fuze) which I've been moderately happy with. I'm not confident that the new Fuze+ models are particularly good based on the reviews. So I turn to the green for advice. [more inside]
Is there a quick (or a quicker) way to download all files of a given type from the Media Library of a self-hosted WordPress site? The site in question has about 200 MP3s. I can easily sort out the MP3s by selecting "Audio." But how can I download them all at once? Is there a plug-in? FTP looks like a big pain, too, as these files are organized in folders by year and month, and there are several years here -- and many months with no uploads at all.
Any way to speed up mp3 loading to audio player? My computer says it will take 13 hours. Is there any way to speed this up? I'm running Windows 7 with 2.0 USB connection. Thanks so much, hive mind peeps.
So, I definitely want to convert all my high bit rate mp3 songs in iTunes to a lower bitrate of 190. I have the bit rate setting changed in iTunes, and I know when I right click and choose "make mp3 copy" it does exactly that. BUT, I don't want the original around anymore in iTunes and don't want to manually go through and delete them or go into the folder to do that. The threads I have looked at tell me how to do the first but don't address the issue that I still have the higher bit-rate copy in iTunes. I have a lot of music, I don't want the higher copies cluttering it. (I have a backup of the originals anyway). Is there something I am missing so it just lowers bitrate but doesn't make it a copy?

I would like to buy and download a specific album (with no scheduled or rumored or hinted at American release date) from any reputable English purveyor of music. Yet my lack of a UK mailing address and/or UK payment method seems to block me from doing so. Is there any legal way I can purchase this music digitally and download it to my American desktop? CD Ripping - how to break tracks into smaller chunks? itunes or MediaMonkey. I recently got a copy of Stay Awake, a CD of new artists doing covers of old Disney songs, and I want to rip it to my computer. Several tracks are medleys - 3 or 4 songs running into each other as a single track. I know I can rip these individually, and then use a cutting program to make an individual copy of the songs, but is there an easier/automated way? [more inside]

Does anyone know where my sister could get an mp3 of a cover version of "Lean on Me" from "The California Raisins Sing the Hit Songs" (1987). We had it on a tape as kids and she's making a nostalgia CD. Can't find it in itunes or amazon... Local libraries don't have it, CD is expensive. I tried a bit of filetype:mp3 searching and didn't turn up much...

I put an mp3 album I bought from Amazon on my Android phone and happily listened to it for more than a week. Then, my husband put a copy on his Blackberry also. Now the album has disappeared from my phone's native music player's list. How did this happen? Is the Android music player somehow "playing nice" with Amazon...? The folder of files is still there on my phone when I view files through the computer, but the Music player does not show it either by album, artist or song titles. Neither of us has the "Amazon mp3 app" on our devices, though I do have the Kindle app on mine. [more inside]

I'm looking for a music playing device for the baby's room. I'd like a small (semi) portable unit with built-in speakers that can play radio and a CD, and sounds decent. Bonus criteria: remote control; a noise making feature (sounds of the ocean or whatnot); iPod or auxiliary line in playback; SD card playback. [more inside]

With the recent announcement that Microsoft will no longer be making Zune players, can anyone recommend a Windows based personal media player with an internal memory of AT LEAST 30GB that supports audio (mp3, FLAC, wma), video (wmv, mp4) and podcast subscriptions? Recommendations for a new media player/software to manage all that stuff would be helpful as well. (I'm just going to cut the Zune cord entirely when my current player finally gives out). Please note, I do not want an iPod or iTunes.

I found and immediately lost a link the other day that talked about a device that made mp3s sound richer, deeper, perhaps like vinyl (or at least not as compressed as they truly are). It was a rather simple device and the article talked about one brand as low as $150. I don't expect anyone to find the exact page especially as I am not being too descriptive. It was on an audiophile site and was recommended...not one of those 'buy this cheapie/crap product that screws up your music' sort of thing. If anyone knows what I am talking about or has something else that they know that works for improving mp3 sound through stereo, I'm interested. Pardon me for the nebulous post. It is the best my brain can recall. Thanks for your techie/audiophile input.
