I have thousands of WMA files I want converted to MP3. Is there a freeware program or a good inexpensive program that will batch convert the files while preserving the original bitrate and ID3 in the final MP3 file and also creating a directory structure such as artist\album? This is for Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

I have hundreds of Digital Audio Tapes (DATs) recorded at 44.1 and 32khz LP mode I'd like to encode to Mp3 format. I have a laptop w/o a digital input or SCSI port. I would ideally like to be able to just press PLAY and have the computer convert the entire tape to a WAV file, or broken up with start IDs from the DAT tapes [more inside]

At work, we have to deal with many many requests for audio clips. That is, receiving a CD, cutting 30, 60 or 90 seconds (or some other arbitrary length) from some or all of the tracks and turning them into MP3 or FLV files for use on our websites. I'm searching for a way to better automate this process, as it is unbelievably tedious process as you can imagine.
My ideal solution would be able to insert a CD (or take a set of mp3 files) and run a program that would let me select start and end points for all tracks or each track individually, select a format (mp3 required, swf/flv nice but not absolutely necessary) and press a button to have it executed.
Does anyone know of such a beast?

I need a free program to convert asf audio files to mp3. Google provides plenty of programs, but they all require payment to convert the entire file.

I just rediscovered the greatness of the Live Music Archive
and would like to covert the .shn shows to .mp3, so they will play on an iPod (the FAQ implies this is OK as long as they are not uploaded or distributed). Are there any freeware (XP) programs that can batch process these files? Bonus points if there is a program that can also add converted files to iTunes.
