The plot: Four old friends, all women, have a bit of a reunion. One of them needs help IDing who raped her many years earlier when they were still teens, probably in high school.
This might be a Lifetime movie. I am hoping someone knows the name. [more inside]

Multilingual Performers: Name actors/actresses that have acted in at least three different languages, the roles they were in, and (if known to you) if the language-use was fake, broken, fluent, or flawless (without identifiable accent). The most obvious example is Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Basterds: German/flawless; French/(dunno if fluent or flawless); English/flawless; Italian/fake. [more inside]

I'm trying to convert an MKV file to mp4 using Handbrake, but for some reason it tells me it's finished converting 40 minutes through. The completed 40 minutes are excellent quality, but I'm at a complete loss as to why it's stopping so early. The file isn't DRMed to the best of my knowledge. What might be going wrong? How can I get Handbrake to finish converting my video? And if Handbrake can't, what other app for Mac handles MKV conversion without horrible quality loss (like VisualHub or QuickTime do)?

I am looking for the best DVD (not Blu-Ray) prints of Silence of the Lambs and Manhunter. I know Lambs had a Criterion issue and regular issue, a 2-disc issue and perhaps more. Manhunter had a 2-disc issue (orange cover), a single issue, and perhaps others. I currently have the Hannibal Lector trilogy, which is all three movies in slimline cases with no extras. I am not sure if they are the same prints that come in single issue cases or if my prints are the high quality. When I say "best", I am referring to best picture quality first and then extras. I am not sure if newer issues lime my slimline set necessarily have the best picture or not simply because they are newer. My slimline set is just the bare bones movies, btw. So best print and if any extras that would be great. I know Criterion has commentary on Silence.

My college's language lab has a bunch of Spanish language movies
that I can watch to fulfill my language lab requirement for my Spanish class. But I know very very little about Spanish language film. Which of these movies should I watch? For an added level of difficulty, assume I can only watch five films in a semester.

I need a cheap and easy way to get RCA-interface or S-Video interface video onto my desktop. I've seen a few devices that are sub-10.00 (which would happily be my price range, if possible) but reviews are wide ranging between "this is great!" and "this is a piece of crap!" [more inside]

I'm pretty agnostic about 3D and IMAX both. But some films really should be seen 3D (e.g. Avatar) and/or IMAX (e.g. Dark Knight).
So...if I view Avengers 2D and/or in non-IMAX, will I be missing out? Each option limits my field of showtime options (and increases expense)...

I'm looking for specific movies where someone is told they have to wait 24 hours to file a missing persons report.
(This is not true, and there are many many places that will tell you it's not true "despite what you see in the movies," but it's surprisingly difficult to find those movies.)

My dad speaks fluent Spanish (and English). I am third-year student of Spanish. Mom and dad know some French. My younger brother (13 years old) only knows English. We all like good plots, good music, and good cinematography. Please suggest some non-English language movies, documentaries, TV series, etc. that we would all enjoy. Bonus points if it's available through Netflix streaming or DVD.

I need pet names for guns from movies and TV.
For example, "Winona" was John Chrichton's blaster on Farscape
, and "Vera" was Jayne's tricked-out assault rifle on Firefly
Please give me more examples. Thanks!

Name the movie: a teenage protagonist triumphs over the bad guy by offering his bodyguards a better deal than they're getting with their employer. I thought this was the conclusion of Masterminds
with Patrick Stewart, but according to internet plot summaries, apparently not. I do think the movie the scene is from could be of the same targeted-at-teenagers ilk, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

In my fantasy life, I move to a remote area of the United States (like somewhere in New Mexico), buy a small home with a garden for tomatoes and herbs, wear long dresses, buy a faithful dog for a companion, write novels and take gorgeous, brooding young men for lovers. Please recommend to me some books with characters (real or fictional) who have lived this life.

Does anyone know where to download any of these Chinese sensationalist pseudo-documentaries made of 9/11 that mix real news footage with clips from blockbuster films? They freely mix fact and fiction, using news footage and illegal clips from Hollywood films. There were three made, with the titles: 1) "The Century's Greatest Catastrophe" (I've also seen it called The Century's Great Catastrophe") and 2) "Surprise Attack on America" and 3) "America's Disaster: The Pearl Harbor of the Twenty-First Century"--all made in 2001. There is a report on them in an article that was in the New Yorker
. Also mention of them made here
. Since they are illegal mash-ups of existing source material, I don't mind if I have to download them from 'questionable' sites. But I'd really like to consult these films for a study I am writing, and would appreciate any pointers as to where to find them.
