What movies talk about recording life events?

Help me identify movies that feature the recording of one's life events. I am looking to develop a strategy for a website or an app like Path, and I would like to include references to movies. I actually have one movie in mind that likely came out in the 90s (based on my age and memory.) From my recollection, it had a funeral scene where a video of a series of events (perhaps an entire life?) was implied to have played. Even if you can't identify that movie, please contribute!

Movies about sex without the sex

MovieFilter: I'm looking for movies that are about sex which contain few (if any) actual sex scenes, such as American Pie and The 40 Year Old Virgin.

(Preferably Japanese) Films similar to Noriko's Dinner Table/Suicide Circle?

What are some good films similar in style to Noriko's Dinner Table, Suicide Circle and Hanging Garden? Japanese preferred, but not necessary. I thought Suicide Circle was great, but I was caught totally unprepared for Noriko's Dinner Table, which blew me away with its direction and intense performances. I watched Hanging Garden today, and it was rather good, but no quite as good as Shion Sono's flicks.

What I'm looking for are films about disintegrating family relations, generation gaps and the morbidity prevalent in our lives that we try so desperately to hide. (You'd think of Visitor Q reading this description, and while I am one of the few humans to have liked the film, I'm looking for something subtler and more melancholic).

I'm asking for Japanese specifically, because I think only the Japanese directors seem to "get" this. As an Asian, I can relate to their kind of families much quicker to Western-style families.

Moviefilter: 1980s artsy life-affirming beachy

Weird movie from vague memory filter: 1980sish, italo disco, beach, beautiful-life-before-dying-young, English people (?), flowing-but-architectural white clothes, colorful flags and streamers, sweeping shots... Ok so I remember watching bits of a movie on TV in, like, the the early 1990s. I think the movie itself was older, maybe from the mid- to late 1980s. I don't remember much of the plot, but it seemed to involved a Benettonish collection of people celebrating life on the beach in vaguely futuristic clothes knowing that someone among them-- perhaps the most beautiful spirit-- was dying. There was music that sounded like that in The Neverending Story. It was all very artsy.

Did I imagine this? Anyone got any ideas?

Help me find this dystopian movie!

NameThisMovieFilter: Dystopian society of people living in a domed city, who don't leave their homes and spend a great deal of their time in their dream machines. -Before you suggest it, this is not logan's run
-Made in the 80s/early 90s?

Synopsis:
Humanity is dying out because of lack of contact with one another and one girl decides to break the rules and escape the dome. There are people living outside the dome, and romance ensues.

At some point, she challenges a man inside the dome who is the controller of the dream machines- he may or may not be her father, and there is some question as to whether her entire escape was simply a dream.

A friend of mine would like desperately to see this, and my googlefu is really failing me. It sounds pretty interesting, so I'd like to try to see it myself, if the hivemind might oblige and provide a name. Details may or may not be entirely correct, but I have no way of knowing, since I haven't seen it myself!

Thanks, hive!

The French, Japan and Love. What's the movie name?

Friend of mine is looking to track down the name of a movie. The dialogue is in English, French and Japanese. Most of the story is set in post-WWII Japan. It is about a French engineer who is working there. He is developping a relationship with a Japanese woman who runs a kimono store, but his old flame flies in from France and hijinks ensue. No it's not "Hiroshima, mon amour". As always there is The general idea is that the French engineer is relatively well-integrated in Japanese society, but his old flame has no clue. For instance, since she works in fashion (back home in France), she thinks that she would know her way around the kimono store, but she makes cultural mistakes.

At a point in the movie, both French people visit the bomb site at Hiroshima. At another point, there is a big storm, perhaps a tsunami. My friend thinks the French engineer fails to save the life of his Japanese love interest.

It's definitly not "Hiroshima, mon amour" (Marguerite Duras) since this movie is not black and white. Other details are that the engineer has blond hair and the French woman, brown, or darker, hair.

Name That Moviefilter (again)

A friend is trying to remember the name of a movie she saw on Bravo in the mid-to-late 90s. She remembers it as being either in French or Italian, with the plot as follows: "it's about this couple that gets married and they're not meant to be together or something like that,so they're never in the same room together. if the husband walked into the living room the wife was in the kitchen, if the wife was on the stairs the husband was in the basement... it was really weird. they kept disappearing."

If anyone can remember it, the hivemind can!

moviefilter: what's this movie?

Moviefilter: 80's movie, guy gets to design a lamborghini ... Here are some details I remember. I think the car was a wedding gift from his fiance's parents? but he was only supposed to choose the basic options... then he goes overboard and gets the thing fully loaded. My memory gets a little hazy here, I think something goes wrong and the car goes crazy... then I think there was some kind of rougue mechanic that helps him out.

I remember this from when I was a kid so I'm assuming it's an 80's movie.

good luck hive mind, the clock is ticking
