Why do people in German dubs of American movies use the second-person plural form of the verb so strangely? They often use it in place of either the polite form or just the second-person singular, z.b. in the
Pirates of the Caribbean, the Commodore says to Will Turner (just Will Turner), "Ihr seid kein Seemann." What?

A friend of mine, in a bout of frustration, recently posted this challenge: " Name one Hollywood horror movie which does NOT contain the line, "WHAT DO YOU WANT (FROM ME)??!!!", usually screamed by the protagonist at the antagonist."
There must be several! I thought it would be funny to present him with a list, and I hope you can help me. (Would be funnier if the movies were not-very-arthousey.)

What "can't miss" movies actually missed?
I need help coming up with a list of movies that have been "Hollywood-ized". A promising film with a great story gets transformed into something worse during the film making process. Such as the ending gets changed, an obvious mis-cast of key characters, poor editing, whatever.
I would like to keep the list of movies contemporary (within the last 25 years or so) Explanations for each movie listed is encouraged.

Two directors whose work I greatly admire, François Girard and Whit Stillman, have been MIA for quite some time. Can someone tell me where either has been, what they've been doing since their last films and what their future plans are? I've heard whispers and seen snippets online, but am hoping some industry-savvy MeFi-ite can provide something more substantial. Is this a case of lack of profitability completely trumping quality and forcing these two out of the director's chair?
