I love Robot Chicken. I love the 100th Episode. When our hero escapes, he returns home to find a dvd waiting to be played. What movie does this scene reference, when the Mad Scientist catches himself in the mirror? [more inside]
Stupid question: Should I read Hunger Games 1? I've already seen the movie. This is normally a no-brainer because usually book >> movie: in this case, I have seen the movie first and have the book on-hand already, plus tonight I have a book swap and dibs on many other books that I don't know yet! Bonus: your opinion on reading parts 2&3.
What would be a good movie choice? [more inside]
Can you help me identify this indie film from the last half of the 90s? It was shown repeatedly on either IFC or Sundance in that period. Set in LA, it seems now like a precursor to "mumblecore" films with non-actors poorly recorded with only a bit of a plot. The protagonist was male, shorter, dark-haired, and kind of aggressive in the way he would talk to people; I especially remember he would mostly repeat what other people would say, maybe two or three times, rapidly, with this angry tone. I remember a scene from Batman Begins when Wayne is putting together the costume down in the cave. At one point he is working on the cowl and turns it over in his hands and you see two white dots near where his neck would be when he wore it. When I saw it and then I heard the voice in the movie I immediately thought they were voice modulators. I've watched the DVD, I've looked at deleted scenes, I've hunted through the internet, and I can find no reference to this scene. Was it possible I saw a miscut of the movie with a scene that wasn't supposed to go out? (Or more likely) Is it my faulty human memory playing tricks on me? Has anyone else seen this scene?
In the movie Brave, the character Young MacGuffin spoke the Doric dialect. Does anybody know what he was actually saying?
OK Woody Allen fans, I've got a question for you. In the movie "Play It Again Sam" he has a date with a woman. What is her name? Her monologue goes something like this (I originally performed it in French) "Before tonight the doctors affirmed that I was frigid. Thank you for proving the contrary. When Dick and Linda spoke of you, they described you as a monster of intelligence, but they never told me that you were also a savage beast". I need the character's name for my resume. Thanks!
Help me figure out exactly what movie I'm thinking about? [more inside]
Searching for a movie on I saw on Netflix: found footage style where teens are warned to stay off land owned by a religious group. Teens don't heed the warning and are slaughtered by the religious group at the end.
MovieFilter: My Google skills are failing me, so help me find a film I saw years ago about AIDS/HIV, where a young-ish man videotapes his daily experiences with AIDS using a handheld camera. It's probably not the blockbuster(s) you're thinking of. More vague details inside. [more inside]
TV/Movie Title Sequence Filter: For production reference I'm trying to figure out what tv/movie title sequence I am picturing - it's from the 60s (or has that retro feel), is an animation of/or including straight lines in different arrangements, they are (sometimes?) blue. [more inside]

My 7 year old son and I have been working to make a movie out of a story that he wrote this summer for a homeschool project. In making the movie, since we do not have an effects department, we found a few short clips (a few seconds or so) from movies - which we own copies of if that makes a difference - that we would like to use. Since this is a project for school, we want to make sure that we follow all rules and complexity of doing something like this and wanted to try to get permission to use the clips. [more inside]

Name This Film: I'm trying to remember the name of a dystopian/SciFi film I saw years back in the 90s, could have been from the 80s. The premise must have been similar to City of Ember, with a kid or teen in an underground city. I remember pipes or tubes featuring prominently, and think they were in the title too. [more inside]

I recently read an article that contained a quote from someone in the movie industry about how it isn't currently worthwhile, or a priority, to make movies for a female audience/from a female perspective/ something along those lines. I have tried to find the associated article, but searching "movie industry women sexism" isn't very successful. I think I may have read the article at Jezebel. I may have even found it here. But I totally can't find it now. Help!

Car rolling over filter: I'm looking for movies wherein a car rolls in a spectacular (potentially test-able) way. Or for an interesting or counter-intuitive reason. Think along the lines of the car flip on the way down Fillmore in Jade. Or the Bond/Casino Royale flip of the McClaren. Hopefully even more spectacular.
Help! I need ideas for two small figures (toys most likely?) to serve as the main characters in stop-motion movie clips. They should be under 6 inches tall, more or less. Ideas for a male and a female figure needed. The male character is a geek. The female is a girl-next-door type. [more inside]

Looking for more examples of a plot. Well, more of a structure really. Bonus points if they go through it a third time, and it absolutely explodes. [more inside]

Name that movie! I am trying to recall the name of a movie I saw in the early to mid 2000s. It was a thriller drama, maybe classified as horror (although I don't remember it being particularly gruesome). It offers an explanation for some of the thousands of unsolved missing persons cases by following a cross country truck driver who is a serial killer. [more inside]
