Help me find this movie. Years ago I saw a film clip with a great drum solo. I think it was Louis Prima conducting Sing, Sing, Sing. In the middle, the drummer, I'm sure it was Gene Krupa, starts his solo and doesn't stop, so the band members all get up and go out for a smoke. After a few minutes they all come back in & start playing again. It's a great solo. Does anyone know the name of that movie?

Remember my request for sci-fi music? Six months later, I'm finally ready to make my CD mix. Almost. Last night I figured out how to record mp3 audio from DVD on my Mac, and now I want to rip key dialogue snippets from classic sci-fi films. I went for Khan spitting at Kirk from his grave, but there's too much incidental music. I think maybe I can get Ripley signing off. What other short, iconic soundclips from sci-fi films should I look for? The intro to the old Battlestar Galactica? Something from Logan's Run? Blade Runner bits? Eerie, ethereal, otherworldly, outer-space stuff is best. (Bonus points if you can direct me to a source that's already done the work for me; right now I'm looking at a several-week Netflix slog.)
Who plays the music on the soundtrack to the movie Godspeed you Black Emperor!, a documentary about japanese biker gangs? IMDB has no info and copies of the DVD I've seen have no info. It sounds like Japanese surf rock, but I don't have a clue as to who it possibly could be. [more inside]

HELP me with this movie title PLEASE! As a child, I saw a black-and-white horror movie about a woman who lived in a house on top of a cliff. Her fiance fell off the cliff and died. She had a mirror at the end of a hallway. Whenever she looked at it, she was still young and beautiful. Many years later, she smashed the mirror and instantly aged and died. It gave me many nightmares back in the day (we had a full-length mirror at the end of a hall and I was terrified to look at it), but today I would love to see it again. After many unsuccessful Internet searches, I fear that y'all are my last hope. PLEASE HELP. Thanks!

I'm trying to remember a film I saw on TV 15+ years ago, it was a period film (1800's?) involving a woman who had to take up a trade route or business of some sort after her husband (supposedly) died. On her trip on the "trade route" someone has her try butter with worms in it. And I don't think her husband was actually dead. Can't recall much else.
FlickFilter: This scary movie, perhaps from the early 60s, finds our cast stranded on a ship which has become mired in some kind of dense seaweed. They see another galleon nearby and debark to explore it. Each member of the crew dons individual helium (/hydrogen?) balloons--harnessed to their backs like water-wings--and snowshoe-like shoes, and walk across the water to the other boat. This definitive scene is very eerie, and is the clearest in my memory. [more inside]
