I'd like to get some good mystery movie recommendations from the 80s on.
It's OK if they veer toward the thriller, like
Michael Clayton, ridiculous like
Ford Fairlaine, noirish like
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, or are a more standard outing with a strong, interesting, well developed detective lead like
Zero Effect. Drawing room mysteries totally A-OK too. Super bonus points if I can stream them now on Hulu plus or Netflix.

Please help me find the names of three vaguely recalled movies from my past: a teen flick from the 80s, a dubbed (possibly Italian) horror film from the 70s, and a scifi adventure from the 60s (maybe)?

I'm thinking of putting my resources into a documentary on a small quirky themepark that went out of business a while ago. What I need are good examples of feature length documentaries on unusual places so I can see how one would be produced.

What's this American movie? I only remember one scene - two guys, holding a third guy in between them (by his legs and arms); they bust in a door, run down a hallway yelling then dump the third guy into a bathtub full of shit. Aired on Australian TV as the Sunday night movie, c1985.

Does a movie studio releasing many, many different video formats (multiple SDVDs, HD DVD, UMD, VOD) of a particular movie indicate that this movie performs well at retail? Or is it more likely a desperate attempt to recoup from a disastrous theatrical run?

Are We Done Yet? was the sequel to an original film, but was weirdly also a remake of the classic Cary Grant comedy Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. Along the same lines, Ocean's Twelve was based on an unrelated script first intended as a John Woo project. Can we think of any other examples of a sequel to an original movie starting life as an unconnected film?

A few years ago I saw a movie that I now remember vaguely but vividly. It was sort of an arty drama, and it might have been European. The story concerned a man and a woman vacationing(?) in a house near a beach. The man was in some sort of psychological distress, eventually culminating in some bloody self-mutilation. The title may have referenced Salinger's "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" in some way, but I could be misremembering.

Years ago on atomfilms.com, I watched a little movie that I'd like to find again online. I think it was claymation. It depicted a depressed factory worker who invented some physical, manufacturable form of Happiness. He was happy with his invention for a time, sharing it with friends, but eventually started his own factory making his new Happiness to become rich, at which point he became depressed again.
