Looking for a Japanese film I saw prior to 2003. It was a dystopian picture of some people trying to have an office romance in the corporate office landscape of Tokyo - lots of shots of bleak urban concrete and highways and faceless office parks full of conformist white collar employees - in the final scene of the film one of the characters is stranded walking along the edge of a highway. It dealt with a complicated love triangle. I know this isn't the title, but it was something like "Kiss me twice, now hold me I love you" or something a little crazy like that- I believe this film was made in the 90s or the early 2000s. It was in Japanese language with subtitles. There is a slight chance it may have been Korean, but I'm pretty sure it was Japanese. This film may have been discussed by Fredric Jameson in one of his essays as it was screened in a graduate school class on Japanese cultural critique.

There is a movie I saw very distractedly around 1996-2000, featuring a scene I keep thinking about. I don't remember much beyond that one scene but I do recall the haunting mood of the film. I'd like to watch it again sometime, but can't seem to identify it.

Another, guessthatmoviefilter. I watched snatches of a movie a long time ago and I have been trying to come up with what it was ever since. It's an 80s adventure film. It came around the same time as "The Little Shop of Horrors".

Movie trivia - killer! Trying to recall a 1960s-ish (?) movie about a knock-out female British hair dresser who decides to improve herself and take continuing-ed university classes - very toff university, very toff professor (possibly Donald Sutherland or Peter O'Toole - except I can't seem to find anything similar on their IMDB career lists). Very along the lines of 'To Sir With Love,' (shot similar also) but focusing on the female's growth from bleached blonde bimbo to an academic over-achiever. Arg, this is killing me. Anyone remember this flick?

Another lost movie. Last seen 1973 in Europe, presumably made that year or slightly earlier (it may never have reached America). Setting: Britain (mostly London?) Pre WWI and just after. Cast: Attractive, British, youthful. No big names that I recall. General themes: I think- women's rights, problems of romance & politics, the pity of war. Two scenes vividly remembered: Young man appreciatively watching a woman on stage, she singing con brio "Votes for women, votes for women, la de da de da da dee!" Final scene young woman sitting in an art gallery post WW1 watching with emotion some "modern" art. I think her young man has died in the war. Scenes less well remembered (VERY POSSIBLY misremembered) generic love scene, generic romantic argument, suffragettes being run in by the police, young man getting a fleeing suffragette out of the way.
A UK production, more art house than mass release, but wonderful atmosphere, which is probably why it sticks in my mind all these years later.
