For the past two days, I have noticed that my mouse cursor will move itself and point to the systray. I've never had this issue before so I am extremely confused over it. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks!

My company is replacing all employees mice with the wireless variety. My question is whether it is worth spending the extra money to buy the rechargable mice with the docks rather than the standard battery operated ones. The mouse we are looking at for around $30/unit (Canadian) is here (company logo removed). I don't know what brand that is, but it features 256 unique ids so we don't get interference within the office, requires no software to run and has a nice surface for use to put our logo on. How long can I expect the batteries (2 AAA) to last an employee working an 8 hour day? I'm not crazy about having to change 70 batteries very often. Would rechargable batteries be an option here? A rechargable mouse runs between $70 and $80 and I'd have to buy them retail. Do these mice also offer many unique IDs to avoid interference? Do they require extra software to run? What other issues should I be aware of? The price difference is significant so I'm leary to recommend the rechargables.

Saving a file on Windows XP, I use Explorer to select the folder I wish to save to. When I navigate the directories, clicking on an appropriate folder I occassionally move the cursor over filenames. As I mouseover filenames, Explorer replaces the default name of the file I wish to save with the name of the file I mouseover. Can I modify Explorer to prevent this filename replacement? Disappearing cursor on OS X. Recently my Powerbook's cursor keeps disappearing when I unplug my mouse. It won't reappear (even when I plug the mouse back in) unless I reboot. It's freaking nervewracking. Any ideas?

I have one of those ancient so-uncool mouses with an ACTUAL BALL in it... and we have a cat. Though I clean this thing every damn day, I know there is a ton of cat hair in the parts I can't reach. How do I get it out without destroying the mouse? [mi] [more inside]
