Would you use toilet paper that had a mouldy bit on it?

I'm housesitting and the loo roll (toilet paper) seems to have gone a tad mouldy. I obviously took the moudly bits off and chucked them in the bin but I am now left wondering whether the mould might have left spores in the rest of the loo rool, invisible to the naked eye. [more inside]

Can I plant this moldy/fungusy rose bush?

Just unwrapped my recently delivered William Baffin rose, to discover a lot of clumpy white and green mould or fungus all over the roots. This is the first rose I've planted, so I have no idea if this is normal (nitrogen nodules?) or if it is, as my instincts say, a very unhealthy thing (kill it with fire). [more inside]

Cleaning mould from curtains with several constraints

I need to clean a bunch of white curtains with black mildew spots. They all have plastic rings sewed on for hanging and no tags to show what material they're made from, but they look like a cotton blend. I don't have a washing machine (I bring clothes to a laundrette) and have serious space limitations (no room to air dry, unless *absolutely* necessary). What is the best approach to cleaning these things? Will a dryer melt the plastic rings? Will a hot wash damage the curtains? Is dry cleaning an option? Thanks!

Help identify a musty smell in a bathroom?

Our small main floor 2-piece bathroom has had a musty smell for the last couple of months. We can't seem to identify the source and aside from the smell there is no sign that anything is wrong. We had a plumber in and he spotted a very small amount of (orangy coloured) mould inside the toilet tank, but even after cleaning that up with MoldEx the smell has not abated. What could it be?
