I went on a long, long break form my creative career cause I was feeling burnt out due to some failures and now I can't seem to get back into it, possibly because I no longer have a financial incentive to do so. How can I fix this? Warning: Long, super privileged person problems.

Can anyone recommend a good therapist/psychologist/counselor who deals with motivational issues in downtown Boston? (I work very near South Station.) I'd prefer it if they accepted health insurance. I'm in Providence the same day every week as well, if you know someone really, really good there, too. By motivational issues, I mean a very heavy and intense inertia, affecting my home and work life, probably tangled up with depression and ADD or something like it.

I've been diagnosed as ADD/ADHD by 3 separate professionals through my life and on medication to treat it for nearly a year. The meds don't work, and I've been on a lot of them (i.e. Ritalin, Vyvanse, Strattera and now Adderall.) How can I give myself a swift kick in the butt to become a productive, organized individual?

Sustained Motivation: I've searched but come up empty. Please hope me. The general answer to mood-related questions, both here and from therapy, is "keep track of your mood". I can't do that. I lose interest after a few days because "I"m fine now, that was a lot of huffle about nothing."

I'm an otherwise healthy 29 year old male who easily gets exhausted and mentally foggy on a regular basis, sometimes seemingly without cause. Not normal-tired, but feeling as if I were 80 years old. It's been like this for at least a year and a half. I have an appointment to see a doctor (endocrinologist) in two weeks, but now that I've finally admitted to myself that I've got a problem... I'm antsy to start figuring out what it might be. Any ideas, hive mind? More details inside...

I hate all forms of work (hence the anon. post) and the only way I've found to finish papers etc. is to stay up all day and night procrastinating until the last possible instance writing a bit here and there--an agonizing process--until, as the last chance deadline aproaches, something takes shape. These papers are usually final papers and usually earn me between a B+ and an -A... which is probably why I never learned how to do work in a painless and organized fashion... at any rate, I have two papers due on the same day and no chance of an extension on either one and am incapable of forcing myself to work. WHAT DO I DO?
