I've just changed mobile 'phone provider to T-Mobile's Web'n'walk Max, which allows me 'unlimited' web access (up to 3Gb/month which is their 'fair use' limit). So, this means I can now listen to Radio 4 online (at 20.7Kbps live, I'm informed by my PDA) - but how much radio can I listen to before I exceed my limit (bearing in mind I'll be wanting to do a bit of surfing etc. too)?

I have a US cell phone (LG Muziq, Sprint is the provider). I would REALLY like to be able to read Japanese web pages on it, but whenever I surf to a page with Japanese text it just shows up as garbage. I've installed Opera Mini on my phone, but that didn't help, even though the demo on their website does show Japanese characters. Is there any way to get this to work? I don't need to be able to type in Japanese, or send Japanese text messages. I just want to be able to read Japanese web pages. If I can't do this on the phone directly, then maybe there's another website I could visit that would convert the Japanese text to images?
I'm going on a 10+ day bike ride and want to be able to use my fantastic Nokia 6110 (with built in GPS) and my ipod Nano as long as possible. I bought a cheap solar panel charger on ebay and have found that it's useless. What are the best solutions? So far under consideration are better solar, a spare battery for the phone and emergency chargers that can be recharged when I can get to mains power. The 'name brand' solar chargers around, the solio and the freeloader also have negative reviews. The Freeplay 12V looks cool, but has also got some pretty poor reviews (but at least it looks like it works). What would you recommend?
I want to watch youtube MOBILE on my computer (m.youtube.com) but can't quite get it. Firefox and VLC gets me close, but not easily and sadly without sound. Would I better off with some smartphone emulator? [more inside]

Is there a option or another product like Active Sync that will allow me to sync certain files where I want them to go on my PDA (ie storage card) instead of the default local place on the device? Its a Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5....
I am hoping folks here can impart their wisdom on how to play with the latest mobile tech for an extended period of time. For instance, let's say I wanted to play with the T-Mobile Shadow for awhile but don't have an account with T-Mobile. Is my only option to pay $300.00 for the phone and sign a two-year agreement? Or are there other ways to play? The thought of several contracts with several providers scares me away from it...

I have had an LG cu320 phone for about 1.5 years, so it's out of warranty and I stupidly (or arrogantly) did not get insurance for the phone. Now an internal part is broken which has rendered the screen completely white and LG won't send me (the customer) the part and can only suggest I send it to them to repair, which would cost a *minimum* of $35. Do you use Virgin Mobile (in the U.S.)? Even better, do you use their Slice phone? All its specs are fine for me; I'm hoping to hear how you like it (especially the sound quality of calls, since the reviews of that are mixed) and/or how you like using Virgin Mobile.
I've upgraded from this HTC smartphone, which runs Windows Mobile 4 (I think) to this HTC smartphone, which runs Windows Mobile 5. Is there any way to transfer from the old phone to the new phone: a) the predictive-text dictionary (thus saving myself re-entering the many placenames and dozens of swear words I've submitted) and/or b) my past SMS text messages?

Options for staying connected to the Internet while traveling outside the US for extended period of time.
I'm going to be traveling outside the US for the next year with my laptop and was wondering what the best options are for internet connectivity. Webmail IMAP client: like SquirrelMail, but smaller, for a mobile phone? My new phone (S/E w810i) does "email", in the sense that it can talk to a small range of pre-selected partners like Yahoo or AOL. I'm looking for a web-based IMAP client that I can use to access my own IMAP server. It should be something along the lines of MIR, but that allows writing mail as well as reading it. I like SquirrelMail a lot, but it doesn't have a non-framed, minimal view.
