What are the best news/opinions about Android in terms of quality of writing and analysis? I'm after sites that post relatively infrequently, but tend to produce high quality stuff when they do post: the Android equivalent of sites like MacStories, Daring Fireball, and Six Colors. (I know far more about iOS than I do Android, but should really know about both.)
I have a no-contract plan at Virgin Mobile USA, which I like because it is so cheap ($35/month for unlimited data and enough calling). The downside of cheap and no-contract is expensive phones. However, I just lost my Android phone and would like to switch back to iPhone. My options at Virgin are iPhone 4, for $200, iPhone 4s, for $314, or iPhone 5, for more than I want to pay really. How to decide? [more inside]
I recently downloaded MeatText (☞) because of Troika's comment in this post (☞) on the blue, tried it out, and the person I tried it out on replied "How is this better than Google Maps"? Turns out GMaps for mobile has a similar feature but its pretty well hidden. I had no idea it existed. What are some other features or functions of popular apps (web, mobile, tablet, or other) that may be hidden or just unnoticed that you find particularly useful?
I'm heading to Bangkok in ten days for about two weeks. I looked into using my iPhone 5 overseas and the answers from ATT made me think twice about it. So for 100 bucks I bought a used Iphone 3GS. I figure I'd just buy a sim card there and I'd be all set. But then I thought I should check. Do I need to unlock it? or jailbreak it? Is there anything specific to Thailand and Iphones I need to know? What's the process here?

I'm founding a startup! Yaaay! I have some friends who like my idea and want to help me. However, I have no money to pay them, so I'm guessing that I'll need to give them a piece of the action. I don't want to get screwed, but at the same time, I don't want to be perceived as a jerk. What is the most fair way to divide up the pie? What's the best way to approach this discussion without coming off as a jerk? [more inside]
Is there anything like Shazaam for iPhone, but better? [more inside]
How do I make an icon-based bookmark to an online radio stream on my iPhone? [more inside]
A friend of mine has an old vintage phone the same as this one here. My limited knowledge leads me to believe that because it was an old analogue phone there is no chance of getting it working again in it's current form. It's in very good condition and we were thinking if it was possible to take the "guts" out of a cheap new phone and put them inside the handset part of the old phone. We only really want to use it for novelty value but neither of us really have a clue how we would match up the keys/screen/antenna or even how to open up the older handset as there are no obvious screws to undo. If anyone could shed any light on if this is possible & how to do it we would very much appreciate it. Cheers

So my boss is doing a lot more business in Europe (Switzerland, London, Madrid, Russia, Ukraine etc...). I am trying to find a solution that will keep him connected with some sort of broadband connection. A few more details after the jump. [more inside]

Suggestions for an intuitive mobile phone with GPS, camera for directionally-challenged adult daughter.
I need a suggestion for a mobile phone that is very intuitive, has GPS and is a camera phone. Bonus points if it's kinda like OnStar, speaking directions aloud, and is affordable--under $250--although I don't know if that is possible...you tell me. [more inside]
I have serious tech lust. I think I want to get the American version of the Nokia N95. Please help me decide if this is the phone for me. [more inside]
I want a simple mobile phone with a monochrome screen and a fast interface that can sync contacts with my Mac or PC via a cable or IR. Something like the Nokia 1110 but with the ability to sync! [more inside]
So I love my blackberry pearl 8100 but I've had it with all of RIM's bluetooth crippling and limitations. I want a phone the exact same size with a great keyboard that does email, bluetooth and works with T-Mobile. Ring it up MeFites. [more inside]

Tech/Business: Say I were to conduct a feasibility study for social networking via mobile phones. I would like the service to enable people to define their relationships and be alerted when a specified contact is nearby (e.g., within 30m/100ft) - provided that contact has set themselves to be "findable" to that person. Is this already being done? If so, where can I find more information? If not, is this viable? Do we have the technology? How do I turn it into a profitable venture? [more inside]
