My dear friend who is known for making awesome mix tapes/CDs/playlists is getting married, and I'd love to give him an awesome mix CD as part of my wedding present. So, musical & in-the-know folks of AskMe, please give me your best suggestions for what songs should be on it! Artist suggestions welcome too, but ideally you will suggest specific songs. So reading this older question
. Doesn't seem to be any resolution to the issue?? Or it can't be done?
I just did two things. One, burn my mix straight out of iTunes. Other mac's don't read the cd info, nor does a winxp box (Media Player). Second, tried using Toast Titanium, with DOA checked, CD-TEXT checked, and all the song names are there filled in. Still nothing on another mac or pc.
I know this can be done with pro cd-mastering/burning software, but that's costs money money. Any ideas? Or is this a dead end?

SongFilter: I've got in my head to do a mix CD of songs that are ironic or in some way foretelling. Examples I've come up with so far are "Punk Rock Classic" by the Chili Peppers ("Put us on MTV...
") and "My Generation" by The Who ("Hope I die before I get old...
") Any suggestions?

Every year I put together a 'best of' comp' to hand out to holiday guests. This year I'm drawing a blank. Fiery Furnaces- sure, Wolf Eyes- Maybe. Mirah, again, this year? I'm having a hard time finding the anthems of 2004. Maybe today's songwriters got too swept up in the election to write a classic 'head-nodder'? Maybe I just got to caught up in the election to listen? Can you help? What's your best pick of the year?
