I just found out that some friends of mine from Oakland, CA have gone missing while traveling through South America and I was hoping that there might be someone here that can help, either with resources or connections in South America.

Help me move on from a relationship where you care for each other and nothing was wrong, but it wasn't right either. Anecdotes about finding greater happiness later are especially welcome.

How do you know when you're missing someone, versus missing what you
had with someone? Or, even stranger, what you could have had with them? Snowflakes.

Name that movie! I am trying to recall the name of a movie I saw in the early to mid 2000s. It was a thriller drama, maybe classified as horror (although I don't remember it being particularly gruesome). It offers an explanation for some of the thousands of unsolved missing persons cases by following a cross country truck driver who is a serial killer.

My dog is about 7 years old, she is a Australian mini. Whenever I go away after work for more then a few hours she cries, mopes and whines. She has this annoying habit of whistling through her nose. I live with my family and commute to work with my Dad & to school, so most days we're leaving at 8am and back 6pm--she does fine then but then if I'm gone & my Dad is home is when she is really fussy. I typically spend the weekend with my Fiancé, which really bugs her (I can't take her with us as my Fiancé lives in a Resident Hall).
If I go out of town, or away for the night she is still really needy and fussy.
How can I get her to be less annoying for my family, to be less fussy about me being gone? I take her for walks and love on her when I am home but that's not enough.
Any suggestions or ideas would be most helpful.

My installation of Windows XP Pro (SP3) seems to have developed intermittent amnesia. I've noticed a couple of times in the past week that files which I edited and saved under new names just -- disappeared. (Details inside). Today, after restarting the machine, I found my desktop wallpaper and Quick Launch icons had reverted to what I had several months ago, and my Recent Documents lists in MS and Adobe products was showing material from July 2011 and earlier. Plus, my iTunes library had suddenly been unable to find about 10% of my songs, although I have been able to manually locate them and make iTunes recognize a few again. These "missing" songs are both old and new: I don't see any pattern in time re what has gone missing. I'm assuming the worst -- XP death throes in progress! -- and am updating my data backups NOW. All my applications seem fine so far: I'm not missing anything that was recently installed. No other data seems to be actually missing. While I back up, is there anything else I should investigate or hypothesize?

iTunes missing tracks filter: What can I do when I see the exclamation mark beside a song in iTunes and when I click on the song, I get the message "Song X could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" Then, of course, it can't find it.
So I have two questions about this:
1. How can I find the songs that are currently tagged with that exclamation mark? I *know* I haven't deleted them.
2. How do I prevent this from happening in the future?
Tech details: Windows 7,about 17,000 songs, if that matters.
I'm sorry if this seems elementary, but I can't seem to find a straightforward answer to this in the forums.
Thank you *so much* everyone for bearing with me with this simple (but screamingly frustrating) question.

I came across an ad on Craigslist that really grabbed my attention. It was from a dad with very little computer knowledge, hoping to set up a website so his daughter would one day Google herself and know about her real dad. He hasn't been with her since she was 2 (2001). Something about it, probably my own personal experiences, really made me want to help. I set up a Blogger account for him so he can post pictures and letters to her easily (he updates the site from the local library). Are there any other things I should try?

I'm an amateur astrologist and a few months back found a terrific and comprehensive (and free) website that provided broad stroke explanations as well as detailed minutiae regarding horoscope readings. Of course, I didn't bookmark the site and can't seem to find it in my history. Knowing this isn't much to go on, I can recall that the site provided detailed individual readings (again, free) for all facets of life (love, sex, money, career, travel, etc. etc.) as well as friendship pairings and love matches.
Any help in finding the site would be greatly appreciated and paid back to you in some karmic cosmic way, I'm sure.

Posted my daughter her excess luggage by Parcelforce (UK to Ireland) when she went back to uni (UCD) last week. Now there's no trace of the suitcase although it is logged as having been received in Dublin. It's now one week behind schedule, and An Phost's customer service is completely useless (didn't ring back as promised, hung up/disconnected, can't get through with 15 minutes waiting, etc.). Registered a complaint with Parcelforce who are working on it, without a result to date. Is this par for the course? Helllllllllllp!

I live in a house where the rent is shared amongst five people. One of those people left for Vancouver over a month ago, presumably because she had a good job offer where she could work unlimited hours. This was to be a 2-week "working vacation" and she told us she was going to use those two weeks to save up some money for paying her variously-accruing debts. She hasn't returned.
We need to know what our options are.
