We have received services from the school district and we are about to lose our teachers due to our daughter aging out of the program. We'd like to give nice and appropriate gifts to the teachers who have helped our daughter for the last two and a half years.

Taking a road trip with a 6 year-old and an 8 year-old around Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, it must end in Norfolk. Looking for ways to make it fun for the kids. Open to quick stops or day+ diversions, happy to drive out of the way if the cost/benefit is there as the time-line is open-ended. Thanks for any suggestions!

In 1984's "Purple Rain," Prince famously tells Apollonia to purify herself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. They're standing by a lake, so she jumps in, and only then does he tell her "That ain't Lake Minnetonka." I believe it's not--I'm a native Twin Citian and Lake Minnetonka is huge and ritzy. But my question is: What lake IS it? Another Twin Cities lake? Something in L.A.? A soundstage pool? (Unlikely!) Does anyone have the definitive answer. You can
watch the scene here, NSFW because she's topless.

I'm in the Twin Cities, and I see a number of great-sounding ski stores in my area: Sisu Nordic, Hoigaard's, Midwest Mountaineering, Hopkins Ski and Cycle, and more. Can anyone help me suss out exactly what makes each store unique? I want to buy skate skis and equipment, both local and new, so help me out. Also, are there any good ski forums for the area?

Some friends and I - all new to the area - are looking for a good place to camp within a long day's bike ride of Minneapolis, MN (60-100mi). We're hoping for something where we'll see few other people, and preferably access to a lake or river, hiking trails, and general wilderness (or at least the feeling of being away from civilization for a bit), and good to stay for a couple of days. Any recommendations? I'm having a hard time with the signal to noise ratio of the rest of the internet. Thanks!

Anyone have a recommendation for an exterminator in the Twin Cities area (St. Paul specifically)? Orkin looks like the main game in town, but I'm wary of simply going with the biggest option around just because it's simple. Reviews/defense of Orkin's service are welcome, too! This is for insects, not rodents.

My grandmother was adopted in Roseau, MN, in April of 1921 at the age of 6 months. On October 13, 1920, she was born, and given into the care of the Lutheran Children's Home Society of Minneapolis. I've found the new name of this organization, and I have the proper forms to fill out to find her original birth certificate. I still worry, however, that this won't go too far.
