Best Bubble Diagram/Chart/Map Software or Website

Google "bubble diagram" and check Google Images to see the sort of chart I'm trying to make. I'm interested in the sort of chart where I can put different topics in separate bubbles and then draw interconnections freely between any of them. I'm not talking about a "mind map" where everything radiates level-by-level from a central point, although what I'm looking for may be a variation of that or included in the same software or website package. I'd prefer something free since I don't do a ton of graphs, but I'm open to paying for something if it's really good. I like the idea of something online (maybe even with an associated app), but I'm not wedded to it. There's a million mindmapping options out there, but I find very few solutions for the decentralized bubble-mapping I'd like to do, so I'm interested in the best option. [more inside]

Free, flexible, easy-to-use concept-mapping software?

I'm looking for a concept-mapping tool that offers (1) considerable flexibility in terms of spatial positioning of nodes, nature of links (not just strictly hierarchical trees in a single direction) (2) somewhat customizable colors and fonts (and ideally, shapes as well), and (3) export/save to PDF or JPG capabilities. You'd be surprised how hard it is to find this program. [more inside]

So many complex projects. So much information. How do I process it all?

I'm being crushed under the weight of all the information I need to process. Most of it revolves around my job. I've thought about it ad nauseum, and I sincerely don't think there's the option to just back off from certain responsibilities to lighten my load. Delegation to others is also not an option, at least at the moment. I just have to be able to absorb all the information coming into me, sort it, process it in my mind, generate new thoughts based on it, and then ACT on it. I need some way of keeping this all organized, and it should be malleable and adaptable since things change all the time around here. [more inside]

Can you help me index and annotate my brain for my daughter.

I have a health condition that may end my life prematurely. I am an "older" parent of an only child who is currently 8 years old. It's important to me that I leave a record of who I was. Can you help me with strategies to help me "index and annotate" myself for her, so that when she is older she could have an idea of her father as an adult beyond just the Daddy that I am to her now? Integrating research with mind maps

I'm involved in a major research-based writing project and I'm looking for a way to bridge the gap between mind maps and research findings. I currently do a lot of thematic organizing in mind maps, and I separately keep a huge list of quotes/paraphrases from my research. The problem is fitting the two together. [more inside]

Websites for flow charts or concept maps?

Is there a good website for making flow charts or concept maps or cognitive maps in groups? A group of my students and I will be making a website together, and I am hoping to find a free or low-cost way for all of us to make such a chart together online. This would be to show how all of the sections of the website relate to each other. Any thoughts or experiences with such services would be most appreciated.

How can I make mindmaps that export to outline format?

I am frequently take education courses delivered as power point video presentations. I've found that using a mindmap is a good way for me to record the information. However, while the map is great, it's not as useful for review. I'm wondering how I can export a mindmap to an outline format on any platform? [more inside]
