My chosen midwife is out-of-network for my insurance company. She also costs less than the deductible for out-of-network providers. Should I still bill my insurance company?

The midwife who was incredible at our sons birth two days ago is going to Haiti for a week to work with a group of doctors.
She has been told she has to bring everything she needs for her own support.
We would like to give her a gift before she goes, perhaps something she might need and would not think of.
Any thoughts form the hive appreciated.
