I am looking for an app for my iPad that allows me to save word documents from the Internet, open them and edit them preferably with a handwriting ability, on the iPad without having to filter them through googledocs or convert them to PDFs. I am basically looking to eliminate having to go through another normal computer from the process so that I can download, view and edit my class note outlines right in class on my iPad. Any app suggestions? I am willing to invest a bit of money in an app if it does what I want.

I'm being interviewed for a job as a VB.NET programmer. I have a good chance of getting it, despite all my past experience being with Java/Perl/Python/C. I'm somewhat of an Open Source ideologue, and hate the idea of using Microsoft technologies, which strike me as not only technically inferior and frustrating to work with, but on the wrong side of history. I'm looking for other options, but assuming they don't come through before I'm given an offer will I regret taking it? Doesn't Microsoft itself consider VB deprecated? To what extent are the other .NET languages (C#) better? [more inside]

There has to be an answer for this, but I just can't figure it out. In Excel, I've got 5 columns (A-E). I need to return a list of values from column A if either column B or C equals 'foo', *and* if either column D or E equals 'bar'. What's the magical formula (or whathaveyou) that will make this happen? For bonus points, results need to appear on a separate tab than the source data. asking on behalf of mrs spinturtle, I personally have no idea what I'm talking about.

Any suggestions on exporting that data or synchronizing to the new database form? Can I extract the data from this old database into some other format and import it to the new Publisher...or do I have to...eek... re-enter all the data and create a new database?
