I haven't worked in a long time due to my disability (bipolar) and also many years when I was a caregiver. I live in a city (Glasgow, Scotland) which is great for music and low cost of living, but quite hard to find jobs in outside of bar work and call centres. I have been working with a careers advisor from a mental health charity and we agree that me updating my skills in Microsoft Office would open a way to doing office admin or data entry work, which I could do for maybe 8-10 hours a week while managing my disability and trying to improve my health. Yet my skills are all in English and with words, and although not unintelligent I seem to have blocks about learning Office and resistance to it. I have one calendar, in Outlook. I'd like to view and be able to print a calendar that ONLY lists certain types of appointments: ones that occur on weekends, and ones where I am out of the office (whether I'm out of office on weekends or not). As a bonus, I'd like to have the option to view this special calendar in Outlook, but I'd settle for being able to print it. Basically, I want to view my calendar WITHOUT my Monday to Friday work meetings on it. Is this possible?

I will be reinstalling mac OSX Yosemite because of constant problems with it but I am looking to retain the folders that have been previosuly created to organise my mails. I am using Outlook 2011 as my mail client. Does using: File - Export - selecting outlook for mac data file (.olm), when imported back, retain the previous folder structure that I have used to organise my mails? I'm a Mac user with a lot of Word 97 files from the mid-1990s. Even if I add extension ".doc", I can't get Pages or other word processors to open them. TextEdit will open them, but with a lot of nonsense characters. Worst of all, Spotlight's not indexing the files (not sure why). [more inside]

We've got some computers that run monitoring software that we'd like to remain visible. We also want to lock these computers so they require a password if someone wants to use the keyboard/mouse. Turning on the lock screen satisfies the second requirement, but not the first. Turning it off satisfies the first, but not the second... Does anyone know of anything that will do what we want?
When I click on the 'Manage Account' button in the Account settings menu in my copy of Word 365, it launches a new web page - stores.office.com - where I can then log-in to my account. I am trying to summarize a table of thousands of values into simple year ranges. It should be simple. So basically, there is a table that looks something like this: PIPE_PLR_Y MILES 1912 0.06 1914 0.48 1930 1.43 1942 1.32 1929 0.85 1925 2.00 1914 0.95 1929 0.42 ... The table has many, many values between about 1900 and today. I would like to make a table like this: Year_Range MILES 1900 - 1909 23.6 1910 - 1919 64.3 1920 - 1929 73.1 ... For some recent while, probably since updating the OS X Mavericks, Microsoft Word for OS X keeps coming to the foreground on its own when I'm doing other things, as long as a document is open in Word. If I click out to the Finder, Word makes itself the frontmost program. If I click into the browser, Word comes forward. [more inside]
