Both Messages and Mail for the Apple Watch have customizable lists of default replies that you can use to insta-reply to incoming messages. Especially for texting, I'm finding that the pre-provided replies beyond "okay" are pretty useless. What are better, handier ideas for a useful quick pre-written text message? [more inside]
I work in a small office where everyone's computer is a Windows PC. We need the option to send each other a instant message when it would be easier to do that then to get up and go down the hall to ask a question in person. What would be a good FREE program that would be suitable for us? We do not use Microsoft Outlook, we use GoDaddy for our email server.

I'd like to give my 2 nieces and 1 nephew a shared device this Christmas, with which they can send and receive SMS and MMS messages (or similar) to and from an explicit whitelist of contacts. Apple iMessage is not an option. Is it possible? [more inside]
I'm currently using Facebook group chats in some of my community organizational work. The "seen by" function is really helpful for more timely items, but the problem is that it only shows first names - but we often have multiple people in the group with the same first name. Is there a way to tell which John or Jane has seen the message? Googlefu is failing me.
I'm looking for an iOS messaging app that is specifically aimed at the visually impaired or senior citizen, but am having trouble locating them in the App Store. Any suggestions? (snowflakes inside) [more inside]
I have an iphone 4S. I imessage with my husband and son a lot, they using an iPhone 3 and an iPad and iMac. If I send a message with an emoji in it, the emoji shows on my phone screen as the graphic/picture, and shows on their screen as the graphic/picture. If they send me a message with an emoji it shows on their screen as a graphic/picture, but shows on my screen as letters/symbols (e.g. :) <3 etc.) I know it is a bit silly, but this is driving my crazy. And my nearly 10 year old likes using emoji so I would rather figure it out than just say 'don't send me the damn things'.

I'm on OkCupd, and I've been chatting with someone who seems pretty cool and cute. We made plans to meet on Sunday, but she said she was busy but wanted to meet up later. I had a free ticket to a movie yesterday, so I asked if she wanted to come out. Again, busy, so I said "Hey, I'm free on Thursday and Sunday if you want to meet, but if not it's cool". I got a message back saying "I did want to, just got busy. Not into the attitude though so lets leave it there." The logical thing is just to leave it at that and not pursue her any more, but part of me wants to try and figure out if I can fix my mistake and at least meet up for a coffee to see if there's any chemistry there. Is it possible?
My wife and I text each other a lot throughout the day - enough that I go over my one zillion text per month limit. An upgrade to the next level (unlimited) would be $30/month. What's the best, most seamless way to get free (or very low cost) texting? I only need it to work between the two of us; I can use regular texting for others. [more inside]
I have some questions regarding MMS charges and the Facebook Messenger app. Between it and the upcoming iOS messages in iOS5 I would like to completely eliminate my texting plan (in light of AT&T's total dick move of eliminating the $10/month text plan-which I was going to move to after iOS5). I figure between Facebook and my iphone-owning friends, family, and girlfriend I should be 99.9% covered and I'll eat the per-text charge on the 2-3 a month that may slip by. I just cant seem to find a clear answer on one point, though: [more inside]

I'm mostly happy with my Nokia 2330 (weeklong battery life, ultraslim and light candybar, disappears in my pocket, holds up to light abuse), but am getting tired of the slow messaging. The inbox and other sections/menus take forever to load, and I seem to type faster than the phone's little processor can handle. If the messaging was speedier, it would be perfect. But it isn't, and I'd like to upgrade. What should I be looking at next? I'd like to keep the features I like, but have a speedier phone. I only text and (barely) call. I will be prepaid with AT&T or T-Mobile.

I plan on upgrading to a Blackberry Curve with Verizon and going on their emailing and messaging plan (450 min unlimited). On their website it comes to $99.99 an month. I'm an avid texter, want voice, be able to email, go online and use vzn navigator. I want to lower that monthly bill... What can I disable (that I'll be charged for) on the Blackberry so I won't have to pay $100 a month?
