For a research project, we’re asking ~24 high school and college students to log their experiences with homework by sending us text messages and photos over the course of about two weeks. Is there a site where they can send those messages so that we could see them from a computer? There are particular features we’re seeking... What comes closest to satisfying them?

Three friends are using Messages on MacBooks running Mountain Lion. Friends A and B are both able to use video chat and screen sharing with Friend C. Yet Friends A and B are unable to use video chat and screen sharing with each other (the video chat/screen share menu items are grayed out.) What gives?

My old friends from high school and I have been using a Facebook message thread to stay in touch over the past few years since we graduated. However, the new interface is really driving us crazy. Help us find an alternative?

I am getting an "icky feeling" from a professor from a nearby university. He hasn't said anything suggestive, but he keeps trying to get me (and just me) to hang out with him. I can't tell if he is a lonely old dude without friends or what. Also, I am a lesbian.
How do I make sure I send a clear message that we are only friends and absolutely nothing more?

My son is 5 years old, in kindergarten, can read.
I'd like to start leaving notes in his lunchbox for him to discover - I'm after ideas. I did some googling and found an industry of pre-printed lunchbox notes, but I want something more personal. After ideas for now, and for when he gets bigger as well.
I was thinking: Pictures of monsters/trucks/stuff, silly sentences, jokes, Codes/Ciphers.
What else? Any good resources on drawing simple monsters?

For a community health project, I need automated capability to send text messages to participants' phones based on a specified schedule, content and sequence of messages. The volume would be in the range of 100 recipients grouped into 6 or 8 different categories (each category would receive a distinct sequence of messages), with perhaps 2 or 3 messages per day to each recipient. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to save one's okcupid messages? A grease monkey script perhaps? How about a way to save your questions/answers? I've invested a lot of energy into the site and I'd like to have a backup in case the match.com people ruin everything.

I am using Mail on OS 10.5.2. I have several mailboxes as well as subfolders. If I put messages in a mailbox that has subfolders, these messages do not appear when I look for them in the Finder. I'll try to be clearer inside.

A friend of a friend who does not care for me told his friend that I sent him a text mesage to his cellphone and even showed his friend the message however, I did not send the message, do not know this person's cell ph # nor do I know his last name. The question is, how did he show my cell ph # as having sent a text message to his cell ph. It must be possible because my friend saw my # attached to this message in the inbox in his cell ph .

I need to archive, with good sound quality, a barrage of abusive/threatening messages left on my mother-in-law's answering machine by my brother-in-law's ex-wife. We don't want to get the police involved yet. The machine is a ten year old (approx) RadioShack with no bells, whistles or manual.

Why are some spam messages predated, often by days and occasionally by years (I just deleted two that were supposedly from the year 2000)? I'm sure there's some technical means to send them that way, but what do they get out of it? How likely am I to see a penis enlargement offer that's hidden on page 66 of my inbox?
