I live in Argentina, and I'm working on an app that requires to use the time of a city in the US otherwise it doesn't compiles (NDA related, I think). So I've changed my macbook hour to that city timezone, and hidden the mac clock to only show the clock in analog (so I don't see this much). I need an app or some way that allow me to display the clock +3 hours.

I'm planning a wedding rehearsal dinner for about 100 guests. Besides the usual wine service I'd like to do something different and do a beer pairing menu. There are four courses total, but guests have multiple options for each course. I think the logistics of serving will limit us to one beer (about 6 oz) per course regardless of food selection, which is the tricky part. [more inside]

My company (75 people) orders lunch from the same place every day. The receptionist sends out an email to everyone in the morning, and people respond with what they want for lunch. She then takes all of these food requests and calls them in to the sandwich shop. At the end of the day, she then has to tally up how much everyone spent. It then comes off of your paycheck. How can we make this easier? It takes a considerable amount of the receptionists time! [more inside]

It's time, once again, for a menu idea for an annual potluck at my house. Past successes have included veggie lasagne, rice noodles w/ peanut sauce, chicken/spinach curry, potroast, chicken wings, potatoes au gratin, corn pudding. Health conscious, veggie friendly, no red meat (the potroast was popular, but I made a nonmeat alternative, and that's a lot of extra work). Preferably not incredibly untidy to eat, as it's buffet and laps. No Canned "Cream of" Soups. Money is not unlimited, so no lobster or caviar. I like to cook, but nothing terribly complicated. @ 15 people. [more inside]

I'm trying to replicate a Flash menu effect I saw recently. The menu was displayed as a vertical list. As the user rolled over the links, the highlighted word grew larger, pushing the other links out of the way. As they rolled off onto another word, the original link shrank and the next one grew, producing a kind of 'wave' effect. Sorry, I can't find an example. Does anyone know how I'd make this myself in MX 2004? [more inside]

The restaurant I work at needs to change its wine list. What are some good wines that should be put on our menu, that are available in Ontario (that's in Canada, folks) and that are similarly priced? DHTML/CSS Wizards: I am looking for free source code to create a simple two-tiered menu. When you hover above a link in a horizontal list of links, each link will display the sublinks in another horizontal bar underneath the first list of links. An example can be seen at macromedia.com. Although I could do this easily enough in Flash, I'm hoping there is some code already out there somewhere in DHTML/CSS/XHTML.

Ok in iChat you can "show your status in the menubar". While I really like this, it only shows my buddys who are available and not the idle or away buddies. Is there a way to change this? Also is there an equivalent thing for MSN messenger? I really like the ability to see who is on without having to switch to the application unless I have to. I am working on a 12inch iBook so screen space is very limited and thus switching from one app to another, and then rehiding them is not what I am looking for.
