Seeking ideas for plannning a multi-course, romantic, home-cooked meal for two that is also thoroughly, completely English. The more traditional the better. Looking for dishes in season, no seafood, ideally with a focus on lamb as a centerpiece and easy on the potato/bread. Other then that, assume a high level of cooking skill, endless time for fiddly bits, and acess to pretty much anything and a well stocked UK grocery importer store nearby. [more inside]

I would like to set up weekly meal planning/recipe/shopping list service. I follow a certain dietary plan -(NOT paleo )and think that that there i a gap in the market for a simple menu/shopping list which arrives in your inbox every week.
The problem is that I have no idea how to go about setting it up.I am a very decent cook and have done this for myself for about a year,so I already have a whole set of recipes and tricks that are diet compliant.
I need to know if there are any software options that I should be looking at and I have no problem investing the money for someone else to do it-but I'm not even sure who I should be approaching!I would like to be able to modify it and maybe offer add ons/customizations if it was successful.
So any help and advice would be gratefully received!

We will be hosting a dinner and the main dish will be a curry (thai red), with rice as a side. I'd like to serve a salad for the entree, but I would like something light and interesting, not just an ordinary mixed greens salad. I am drawing a blank here... [more inside]

I love cooking, I do! But I really only love cooking for others. Come the weekend, I'll happily slave over brining meats that end in elaborate 120-step preparations. I have made food from the French Laundry cookbook that basically tripled my grocery bill. I love it.
But Monday through Friday, when its me and my tummy, I could kind of care less. I live a few miles from the nearest grocery and so I'm car-less, which means if I don't buy for the week, I don't buy at all. I'm also stupidly busy which means that a lot of the time I'm either paying way too much for lousy chain food or eating gummi worms for lunch. [more inside]

I have a bunch of peanut butter that I need to use up, but I'm running out of ideas. I would particularly appreciate recipe ideas that I can use in meals, though all I can ever really think of is perhaps Thai-style chicken/noodles, or PB&J sandwiches, or fruit with peanut butter dip. I know there's also stuff like peanut butter cookies and other baking goodies, but I'm trying to avoid sugar-bombing my diet too badly. Please help me with ideas!

Okay, I apologize in advance for asking this question. I know questions like it have been asked many, many times before. But I'm suffering from brain freeze brought on by an over abundance of options and lack of time.

My roommate and I were planning to host Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people, but the gas has been turned off in our building and we don't know if it will be back on by next week and I have no stovetop or oven to use if it doesn't come back on. The bakery/café I work for is looking for a good company to print our menus.
We're looking to print "tall" menus. I'm sorry this is so vague, but I don't know the measurements or name of the type of menu. If I had to guess I'd say ~8" x ~4" — you know, the kind you often see in restaurants/cafés/delis, etc, often with a trifold. We're most likely doing just a double sided piece of paper, though.
We're located in Brooklyn, so we'd be looking for a company somewhere here or in Manhattan.

Command-line calculator: I used to have a calculator program I put in c:\windows\system that took arguments, so I could type "c 5+2" into the start menu on W7 and a popup with the answer (7) would appear. Anyone know the name? Not quite a command-line calculator, since I want to pass in arguments and get a returned single value via popup.
