Gift Filter: Under $40 shipped, small token of appreciation for my mentor. I'd like it to be a small decoration (or the like) that he could put on his desk. Other requirements: somehow related to both golf (his favorite hobby) and the oilfield (his career for 35+ years). I'm not very crafty, so hand making something isn't an option.

He's talented. He's just finished his cd, poured his heart and soul into this thing.
But -- he fell in love with the studio, all those toys, sucked the life right out of this record.
I've had a copy two days, I need to call him and tell him I love the record. But I don't.

I am mentoring a college kid who wants to be a programmer. I am detail-oriented; he does the
bare minimum required to get the job done, but he gets things done. Am I right to push him toward thinking about doing project management rather than hands-dirty techie-developer type stuff? Or is he just lazy and needing to be schooled?

There is the story of the perennial house guest who is either a distinguished mathematician or a physicist. The story goes that if this gentleman comes to stay with a young scientist it means that their future in the field is in for a sudden uptick. His tenure in their home tends to result in a few collaborative papers which in turn leads to notice in the scientific community and a rapid rise in status. Please help me find this professor's name?

Can you recommend a summer program, August - Sept, for a bright 15 year old girl living in Queens, NYC? My niece is very smart, loves dance and theater and wants to excel academically. She's starting to make choices that aren't ideal, and (unrelated) do somewhat poorly in Math. I would love to find a program in Queens, or NYC for the month of August that can help her with school, inspire her and encourage her in the right direction. Help?!
