Obsessiveness Filter: I fixate on and plan obsessively about moving to new (specific) places, and I'd like to know why. Here's the situation: I have mild depression with anxiety and take medication for it which helps a lot. However, periodically I do something that I find odd and that I can't find specific references to in information about OCD, depression or anxiety. I pick a place that I might vaguely like to move to, and become obsessed with planning every detail about it.

I am curious about how detailed, or photographic/realistic the imagery in one's mind's eye is, and what in general would be considered "standard" for most people. Note I am not talking about "creative visualization" but I suppose it could be related. Specifically I am referring to simply the process of
visualizing an object, face or scene in your mind's eye.

I guess the question should really be, "how to overcome a MENTAL roadblock that has taken the form of a person?"
I guess my situation can be likened to those age-old stories of someone not being able to forgive a parent for a bad childhood, and blames the parent for his/her failures. But my story is about an unwelcomed competition from a cousin, one that instead of facing I've always cowered to, and have thus grown in resentment and have become stifled as I continue watcihng my life unfold in misery, Wondering how to reclaim a personal sense of power regardless of her presence in my life, even though it seems it keeps "haunting" me.

So I'm clinically depressed. And right now I likely can't take medication or see a therapist. If things get worked out with medical coverage I might be able to do one or both. But, I'd like to avoid medication if at all possible. What are the things I can do/take (vitamins?) to feel better until ?

Slightly weird one: I occasionally get what I think is a psychosomatic sinusache. It seems to be induced by looking at a sharp edge or point, and perhaps happens to me once every one or two weeks. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this, and/or has any input into what's going on (mentally or physically) and any fixes or things that alleviate what's going on. As always,

In high school I was involved in a nerdy extracurricular activity that occupied most of my time, and when I graduated most of my friends went to school A to study our field and I went to School B. One the friends I made through this association has, I've recently been informed, checked himself into a hospital for mental health reasons. He had already decided not to go back to university this semester (we attend different schools, so I found this out second hand). He had had issues in high school, but it sounds as though things have deteriorated dramatically.
He is a brilliant person, and my life has been better for knowing him. I'm going to send an email to a relative of his that I think can get it to him for me. What do I say?
