Can you recommend interesting men's shoe makers? I really (really!) like a lot of Cydwoq shoes, and some Fluevog's. I dislike shoes styled after athletic shoes or old track spikes. I'm most interested in learning about high style, relatively unusual shoes. They can be dress or casual.

I'm sartorially clueless. How would you describe
this kind of shirt? It's a "dress shirt", sure, but how would you specify the fabric and cut (particularly that type of collar)?
Here is another example. I'm looking to buy some shirts like these but when I go to department stores I can only find
this sort of thing - which is cut completely differently and uses an extremely thin fabric. Help me articulate the differences.

Men's suit-filter: Went to the tailor to get a couple of my suit jackets looked at. They told me that it wasn't that the shoulder was too tight (which I'd thought was the problem), but it was that the there wasn't enough room in the sleeve, in the area around my triceps. And upon opening up the inside of the sleeve, the tailor pronounced that there wasn't enough fabric to make the sleeve significantly bigger.
Is there any way around this? Thanks MeFites!

I have been watching the AMC series
Mad Men (set in NYC office setting around 1960) and it made me wonder. Just how accurately does it portray the professional workplace of the period? (Ubiquitous smoking, drinking, degrading comments to women and overt flirting, etc.). In particular, was it ever considered normal to keep a stocked bar in every office/conference room?
I realize things are exaggerated for TV and to contrast with today’s norms... but generally speaking was it really this bad back then? I guess I am looking for responses from those who are familiar with the TV show and worked in an office in this timeframe.

For the last several years I have seen an increase in young men (late teens to late twenties) wearing knit caps. Summer, Winter, the season doesn't seem to matter. My question is this. How and where did this "fashion statement" originate? And a secondary question would be, don't they get hot wearing those hats in the middle of the summer?

"Women are different than men. In a relationship, a man needs to be the one who takes care of a woman when she's angry, who tells her to calm down. A man needs to be more understanding than a woman, and a woman needs to be allowed to have her moods."

How to stop married man from flirting when it's reciprocal? I'm a notoriously bad crusher. Even though almost everyone would describe me as a competent, sensible, self-assured and promising young woman, I completely loose myself when someone breaks through to my inner core. It's not that it happens all the time either, but when it does it's with a vengeance. I would definitely describe it as a 'crushing' sensation.

Can you think of any men who write, or have written, or create in any medium, under a woman's name? (I'm excluding transsexuals, and examples such as men in Shakespearean theatre and Japanese Noh Theatre.) There are plenty of women who have written under men's names, but I can't come up with a single example of the other way round. A true situation, or just my ignorance?

Sex is often touted as beneficial for one's health. Is this supposed to be true for both men and women, and how much evidence is there for the claim (apart from calorie expenditure, which is still negligible compared to actual aerobic exercise)? And is it primarily the orgasm that's supposedly healthful, or even sex sans orgasm?
